Steve is a good Canadian boy. They showed that footage on Coach's Corner last night, got Don's seal of approval.

No opinions on this whole new Super Team? I don't particularly care where LeBron James went and basketball is a business (I can't fault him for choosing another team just like I can't blame a team when they trade away players), but wow, he seriously did not need to do the one-hour special. Plus the fact that proceeds went to charity... yeah, they did, Boys&Girls club received $2.5M of the supposed $6M+ that "The Decision" made. They can't say the missing $3.5M went to ESPN because apparently ESPN donated the production costs of the coverage so that more of the proceeds could go to charity. His whole signing for less so he can we can win a championship is total BS to me until he (or his entourage) explains where the $3.5M went.
Anyway, the Super Team is supposedly signed for 5-6 years (I think Wade is the only one that all reports say he signed for 6 years, Bosh and James length of their contract is reported differently by various sources), so what is the number of championships they need to win together for this experiment to be considered a success? 1? 2? 3? 4? 5? I say they realistically only win 2 championships together and anything less than 3-4 (depending on contract lengths) is a failure.
And I feel so sorry for Cleveland. Do I feel sorry the Cavs owner Dan Gilbert? Nope, he totally enabled LBJ (and his crew), he never should have given in to every little whim that Lebron wanted. But Cleveland deserves better and Cleveland will eventually win a championship in some sport, heck the RedSox won after how many years of anguish! Cleveland's time will come and the evil person in me hopes it comes at the expense of Lebron (who never should have done a 1-hour interview).

I don't get The Decision on any level. Why announce it on TV? Why did Jim Gray ask such stupid questions and not get straight to the point? Why Greenwich? "I'm going to take my talents to South Beach"? How does his head fit through the door? Dan Gilbert's psycho rant in Comic Sans was pretty awesome to behold, though, even if it was basically the equivalent of a drunk text transmitted to the whole world.

Jim Gray's salary for The Decision was paid by LeBron. He asked exactly what LeBron wanted him to ask when LeBron wanted him to ask him. LeBron is a drama queen. I expected him to try to walk on water.

TMZ had a clip of Mark Cuban being asked about the LeBron spectacle and Mark's response was something like, "Two words: media training." Even noted attention whores like Cuban thought it was too much. Post-Decision, I've seen more comments from Kobe haters saying that maybe he's not so bad after all.

Kobe may be an asshole of the highest order, but he at least knows how to keep his famewhoring tendencies in check. I thought nothing could top A-Rod announcing his free agency during game 4 of the 2007 World Series for attention whoring. Boy was I ever wrong.

I think the vitrol from Cavs fans is ridiculous. He's moving to another team, not declaring himself a Communist agent.

I can understand Cav fans being annoyed, but the sheer amount of vitriol from Knicks fans is staggering IMO. With the Cavaliers, at least it's like...well, LeBron is turning his back on his first team, so in a way it makes sense to see it as a personal betrayal. But LeBron didn't even play for the Knicks, so I am absolutely baffled at the outrage resulting from his choice to go to Miami. I'm in New York, and rags like the NY Post were steaming over the decision. My coworkers were pissed, too.

I did feel bad for Cavs fan until the owner posted his batshit letter. It is freaking hilarious. The only thing that would have made it more insane is if he used a crayon font.
