Let's not forget to spot the hotties. We can applaud the athleticism on display, but a little eye candy never hurts. Indeed. Let me be the first to introduce to you, Mr. Rúrik Gíslason.

Well done Mexico! That was awesome and so deserved! I wasn´t expecting Germany to be so poor. They looked lethargic, heavy, arrogant? Mexico on the other hand were fantastic, vibrant and fun.

The Brazil-Switzerland game was a bit of a shock, too.

Messy but spirited defense from Mexico. They are capable of beating any team, and being beaten by any team in return...it's this inconsistency that keeps them from really making a statement.
I think both Germany and Brazil presumed an opening cakewalk and were surprised to find they actually had to do some work. I expect they'll both get their acts together for the next match.

I don't care who wins, as long as it isn't Argentina. The snobbery of thinking themselves the best in the world and Latin America with two measly World Cup wins when we have Brasil is just some damn nerve. Plus one was with Maradona cheating. Like no bitches, sit down. I hope Brasil takes it and just leaves them even further behind.
Pleasantly surprised that Mexico won. The problem with them, is if something goes wrong, they just give up. If they kept up the same amount of heart, etc they could go all the way.

Every word is gospel truth, Coffeecakes. Gabriele Marcotti, whose opinion I generally trust, has Argentina winning against Brazil, which I don't want to happen. I don't especially feel Brazil right now, and Neymar Jr fatigues me, but still. If it comes to an ARG-BRA final, I'll put out a nice spread and hope the best team wins with minimal cheating.
One of the Mexican team said their coach reminded them to play for the love of winning, not the fear of losing, and I hope they can go far.

Germany was awful, but not only that, Mexico was just better. I love how we as nation now question ourselves because Germany lost haha.

I heard this morning that seismographs in Mexico sensed the ground moving because of the fans jumping up and down after Mexico's goal during the game with Germany. Here's the story.

Lovely goals from Belgium today. I would love to see them go all the way.
I felt sorry for that striker who was thisclose to scoring the first ever goal for Panama. That would have been a Mexico-sized moment for their WC debut, but alas.
