Woohoo! I'm so glad I don't live near the Fleet Center, it's nuts over there right now. I'm seeing on TV that fans are overturning cars and setting fires? Where do they think they are - Detroit???  |

I just left downtown and people were pretty calm, and just talked to a friend still down there and he said everything is OK. Not sure where the shenanigans are but I hope it's contained. God, as bad as I wanted this, I sure don't begrudge Boston the win. They played an incredible series and Thomas is a fucking god. I had so hoped Tampa would take Boston out before this series because I knew Boston would give us a good run. They did more than that, obviously. Congrats Boston. I'm gonna go cry for a bit now.  ETA: yes, watching the news and it looks like some fucking morons are embarrassing us for all the world to see. I hate young, drunken idiot manboys. UGH. I swear, this is a very civilized city for the most part! |

Yeah, I have a video feed from our NBC affiliate and looks nasty over there. So far the cops are keeping the crowds in Boston relatively contained. They've got the area around the Fleet Center locked down tight but Kenmore Square is mobbed.

I've just heard about morons pulling street signs down, nothing about a bus. If it's anything like the World Series mobs there'll be some damaged trees too.

Outside of the burning car, the crowds look peaceful on the news. Heard from another friend downtown and she said everything's copacetic. I booked on outta downtown to avoid this shit (not to mention the transit lines.) I hope everyone stays safe here and in Boston. Again, well played Bruins. Milan Lucic grew up right in my hood (Go East Van!), so it feels like a little bit of the cup is here anyway. |

I am so fucking sad and disgusted by these assholes. What a goddamned embarrassing bunch of fuckheads. Why?
ETA I was referring to the "fans" who trashed downtown last night, not the players or the team. Way to embarrass your city and tarnish an awesome run for the cup. The reaction of everyone I know is utter disgust. Hate.

Sorry Vancouver but you ran into the hottest goalie in years. I wonder what it will be like for the team next year? How the fans will react etc? Boston had full confidence in their goalie and Vancouver had to keep wondering what kind of goalie would show up for them every night.
