Pissy little bitch or not I love Roger.....if anything I think Roger was a total headcase and then managed to get his shit together and started winning everything. He'll (almost) always get a pass from me for his charitable work, which he doesn't brag about. It's just done quietly and efficiently.

I'm really interested in Rodger's charities. What are they?

God, I used to "hate" Sampras. Never got why people called him gracious, he very often wasn't. When you're able to get digs in against one of the genuinely nicest and coolest guys on the tour (talking about poor old Pat Rafter), you lose all cool points you may have ever had.
Roger has changed a bit over the years which I guess comes with everyone telling him how he's the best player ever. Maybe that's what happened to Pete too, back then. I still prefer Roger who can still be cute and funny (especially in his German interviews).
Oh, and I felt so sorry for Roddick. I was rooting for Murray in their semi final but seeing poor Roddick's face after the final broke my heart. I haven't always been a fan of his on-court behaviour but off court he comes across as funny, sweet and really modest. Too modest in recent years which may have been what put him behind guys like Roger, Nadal or Nole.

What did he say about Rafter?
I guess the digs get past me. Usually after getting beaten both Pete and Roger give all props to their opponent for outplaying them. On occasion, when it's obvious they lost because they were just playing shitty and really should have won, they'll say something like "I was off my game". I know some people think that's arrogant and they should always give all credit to the opponent, but I don't mind them stating the obvious.

I think when Sampras was asked about the difference between him and Patrick Rafter was, he said "11 Grand Slams."
I'm not sure what prompted the quick retort. Granted, it was the truth, but it seemed kind of weird to make a retort like that about Rafter, who I think, is probably one of the nicest athletes alive.
I don't actually remember Sampras being arrogant a great deal of the time when it came to his opponents; I did think it was a little strange how he'd go on about how he wanted to be seen as a gentleman and all that. It's not really something you talk about yourself. It's something over time other people are supposed to say about you without prompting from you. I guess that's the only thing I found kind of weird about him, but he was young.
Sampras was really good-looking back in the day though. Because everybody always went on about how dull he was, they seemed to forget he had a nice face. It doesn't seem to have aged too well though.

Andy Murray won the Rogers Cup this weekend and became #2. Why the hell is this guy so effin miserable? Seriously, everytime I see him on tv he has, as my mum would say, a face like a slapped arse.

Ouch, that is bad. But I think that sort of thing was rare for him.
Yeah, it's like he was being well-behaved because that's how he wanted people to view him, and not because he was necessary a super nice guy.
I'm in love with Marat Safin and have a few wishes before he retires at the end of the year: 1. That he makes it far enough through a tournament for one of his matches to be televised. 2. That whenever he finds himself in front of a camera, he is photographed at such an angle that his hideous tattoos and multiple ghetto necklaces are not visible, so I can pretend they do not exist.

Can't stand Andy Murray. I think he is a pissy little bitch and I hope against hope that he doesn't win the US Open this year or ever win Wimbledon. As a Brit I hate the fact that the press and country fawns all over him come wimbledon time just in the hope that a "brit" may finally win but he's actually scottish!! as well as being a pissy little bitch.
Mmm marat. Saw him in Toronto the year before last and he threw a few tantrums. It was lovely to watch. I am sad about his retirement. I heard rumors he was engaged to his russian pop tart girlfried. I looked her up and even though she is supposed to be in her 20's thanks to her bad tan and bad dye job she looks to be in her 40's. Hey marat, I am prettier than her!!!

Technically would Murray be considered both British and Scottish since he is from Scotland and therefore GB?? But not English since he is not from England. Or am I confusing terms. Whatever the case, I'm not a fan of his and I'd actually rather see Andy Roddick win the US Open and that's saying something. But I gotta say, I still think Fed is the favorite and most likely to win.
