Ah, I am sorry to hear that. I saw her play a couple of times last year and I was so impressed by her play and the kind of person she seems to be. I will miss seeing her on the tour. I hope life post-retirement is a happy one for her.

Didn't like her one bit, but good for her going out on top on her own terms.
Does this mean Sharapova automatically becomes the new #1?

I like Tim Henman, wish he was still playing.

It's a shame, he was finally rediscovering his clay legs in Rome, but then had to retire a few games into the semifinal match. Hope his shoulder injury isn't serious.

Go Rafa! He beat Djokovic in straight sets today.
Mr. cyclone is going for Federer this weekend (I also like Roger), but I'll never give up on the dream of Rafa and me in a Mallorcan mansion. Mmmm.

Congrats to Ana and Rafa---won without dropping a set, first person to do it since Bjorn Borg.
Rafa/Roger was 20 sorts of uncomfortable to watch. Rafa was subdued as was the crowd...for Roger to have that bad of a breakdown. Sheesh. Everyone knew he wouldn't win but to have this big of a breakdown?

I think Roger needs a sports psychologist to deal with Nadal on clay issue - I do think a part of it is mental. And it is only going to get worse after today at least on clay. He came so close to beating Rafa the last two times they played, he was up a set and a few breaks in one of those matches. I just don't understand how he went from that to what we saw today - I know that Rafa was firing on all cylinders but Federer was very unFed like.
Luckily for Roger he has a good record against Nadal on the other surfaces - although it will be interesting to see what happens if they both make the Wimby final again. I can't help but wonder if Rafa was thinking about all of his lost chances in last years Wimby final. But the window of opportunity Roger has to win The French is getting smaller every year. (Unless he ends up winning late in his career like Agassi did)
I do think though, that Roger will pass the record set by Pete over the next two years and will go down as the GOAT - Rafa on the other hand will clearly go down as the best clay courter, ever. End of story.
