Oh man another painful Monday night in January. (I guess the only comforting this is that it's warm here at least until Wednesday when winter returns.) Wow, even if we lost which I had a feeling we probably would again, I don't understand why it couldn't have been closer instead of getting embarrassed again?!?!
Oh well, hopefully we'll put this behind us, and not embarrass ourselves if we ever make it to another Championship game. Congratulations LSU fans.

Yes, I don't even know if LSU was the best team in the country; although, they are awfully good. I feel bad for Georgia, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, USC, and West Virginia since unfortunately they had a run of bad luck at the wrong time while OSU was fortunate enough to lose when they did, and have other teams lose after them.
Plus, yes, I think there definitely needs to be a playoff system especially after last night. While it benefitted OSU in the short run to have a fairly easy schedule and been lucky to withstand not being dropped that far in the polls when the teams before them started losing again, we really shouldn't have been there, and a playoff system could prevent uneven match-ups like the one last night or the Illinois vs. USC game or the Hawaii vs. Georgia game. Sure those teams might still have met in a first round situation, but I figure it's a lot better that way then to have them meet in the five big games of the year where the best talent should end up not because a school draws in more visitors to a city or because a bowl would prefer to have a school from a specific conference.
I can't even believe I'm thinking about next year already, but I really hope that the USC game is a lot closer than last night's game was. They seem scary like LSU did, and three embarrassments within a span of two years would be too much. I mean it was bad when we went 8-4, but had bad losses to teams like Northwestern who we hadn't lost to in 50 some years I believe a few years ago, but that was understandable because it was a young team and the quarterback situation wasn't fully resolved. We were also able to come back after that poor year, and finish well, so I'm scared that OSU wasn't able to do that with LSU since under Tressel they've usually been able to bounce back after losing or having a poor showing the year before. Not being able to make it really close even and losing another bowl game has me thinking John Cooper all over again, and I don't like that feeling at all. I know I have unreasonable expectations, and that I should just be happy we got as far as we did in a rebuilding year, but with Michigan not having Carr anymore, I have visions of us reverting back to our losing ways with them.

Once again the BCS fails to pick the two best teams in the country to play for all the marbles.
