Why you do this to me, Buckeyes? Why, why? And how could the CU Buffaloes blow a 21-0 halftime lead at Iowa State? Why, why?

So in case anyone wants to get amped for this weekend, HBO has made a documentary about the Michigan/OSU rivalry called The Rivalry. It debuts tonight at 10:30, but I'm sure it will be rerun a bunch.

Buckeye fans this was on the yahoo front page. Turns out the officiating crew for the Illinois game was under suspension.

I haven't like Oklahoma since the days of Barry Switzer so it was good to see the Red Raiders hold on for the win. On the other hand, I haven't seen the BCS standings yet but I doubt I'll be able to ask the question, "Which conference has 3 teams in the top 5?" all superior-like.

Because OSU is now at number five, so they only have two teams in the top five. Of course, I'm happy that Oklahoma and Oregon lost, but now I'm back to obsessing over how the Buckeyes can still make it back into the championship game, when I thought I was done obsessing about the game after the loss to Illinois. Obviously, OSU will rise more spot after this weekend because of Kansas and Missouri playing. Oklahoma, if they make it to the Big XII title game, will hopefully win. I'm not sure if LSU and West Virginia will lose anymore though. I thought Cincinnati had the best chance to knock off West Virginia, but they couldn't do it. I don't think Pitt will, of course this season you never know, and while UCONN has been incredibly lucky this year, I don't think they'll be that lucky. I really can't see LSU losing to Arkansas, and if they play anyone but Georgia in the SEC title game, they're sure to win. So I should be happy for just the Rose Bowl and the Big 10 Championship, but since Oregon and Oklahoma started to open the door that I thought was closed, I can't help it. I got to watch half of it because I forgot to look when it was going to be replayed but was fortunate enough to catch the last half. Hopefully, I'll catch all of it this week. I thought it could have been more in depth, but overall I thought it was a good way to build up to the Game.

Is there as much discussion/speculation in Michigan about the vacancy left by Lloyd Carr as there is down here?

Is there as much discussion/speculation in Michigan about the vacancy left by Lloyd Carr as there is down here? Not really. Nothing was said on the local NBC station's sportscast tonight; the popular vote on the station's website is Les Miles, who played for Bo and coaches now for LSU. He has a rather expensive clause in his contract though that says if he leaves LSU for Michigan, he has to pay $1.25M. Ouch. What do you guys think?? What are you hearing?

This rumor has really gained steam since the Florida game. To be honest, more than a few people probably won't be that upset if he does go. He doesn't really inspire confidence, ya know? He just seems more lucky than anything.
The most popular theory here is that if he is offered the job (which everyone seeems to think will happen) he will take it. Miles's inclination is apparently confirmed by his best friend in an interview. One of the local sportscasters who predicts this will happen adds that it makes no sense for a coach to leave a team that may* actually play in the national championship game since that is usually the goal the coach strives for.
I don't know: which is the bigger pull? Dream job or possible* national championship?
*To avoid any gris-gris, I have emphasized that this is conjecture. Hell, I'm not even predicting a win over Arkansas, much less a national championship.

That's the same as it is here in Columbus. Les Miles seems to be the only serious candidate for the job at least from the news around here. Yes, I'm not really all that sure about Les Miles. He has had success, but some of his calls seemed really stupid if they hadn't worked. I guess it's lucky that they did though. Also, in the Kentucky game, I'm not sure why they kept running it up the center especially on fourth down. I didn't get to watch the game just the highlights, so maybe that wasn't really a bad call. Of course, I guess most if not all coaches have there fair share of head scratching calls or incredibly lucky calls sometimes not just Miles. If he does go to Michigan like expected, as a Buckeye fan I have to start tearing him down now, and say that he's just gotten lucky but that will stop when he faces tOSU like he did when he faced them when he was head coach at Oklahoma State. (I admit that I'm scared though because the good fortune that tOSU has experienced against Michigan in the past few years could start to go the other way with a new coach.)

We've managed to piss away this season because we expect our two fabulous running backs to carry every single play of every game. We're just hoping that all the rumors flying around town are true, and Nutt will soon be history replaced by a certain someone.
