That was the worst college basketball game I've ever seen in my life.

A sportswriter friend of mine posted the story about Pat Summitt, and I wanted to cry myself, BoroKat. She just seems like a really cool human being and a good coach and friend to so many young women.

You know, Tennessee gets a lot of grief for being behind the times (our idiot Lt. Governor, the brouhaha over the Murfreesboro mosque) but Pat Head Summitt represents the best of Tennessee. And even beyond that, she is an inspiration for women everywhere, and a class act. I hope that they can hold off the more serious effects as long as possible.

BoroKat, I thought you might enjoy this piece on Pat Summitt, written by one of my journalism school classmates. I would never have guessed that the ever-cheerful Pat Forde -- with whom I spent many a long night working at the student-produced newspaper -- was facing this kind of sadness at home. In happier news, my beloved Missouri Tigers said goodbye to the Border War rivalry (next year we're in the SEC) by beating Kansas 74-71. Much happiness in Tiger Nation tonight, but a little sadness, too.

I hate Duke. that is all. I feel significantly better after last Saturday's game. ETA: I HATE Creighton. That is all.

My stepmom and dad went to a game in January and said that Pat just sat on the sidelines for the entire game. Breaks my heart.

Pat stepped down yesterday. She is receiving a Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama. My sister wanted to be a Lady Vol when she grew up. This is just so depressing.

Bracket time!! Who ya got? I got Wisconsin and Kansas in the final. This is what my considerable gut told me. And I'm confident because all the pundits know nothing and picking Indiana and Louisville is TOO easy.
