I know she's been struggling to adapt to the brutal expectations for women in the industry as they are aging, but I hope she pulls through and if necessary takes care of herself regardless of any touring. She's a pop icon and doesn't need to prove anything at all anymore. And there's been such wave of legendary artists dying in their 40ies and 50ies. Heart problems etc.
Truth is, the hard living and stress of that way of life tends to catch up with them. Then often enough you add substance abuse issues ongoing or severe ones in the past and you've got a toxic cocktail. Fact is, Keith Richards is a joke for a reason. He probably just lucked out with his genes so his body is able to withstand everything he's subjected it to. Most won't fare that well. You had it with Prince, Petty, George Michael, Lisa Marie Presley probably now. Carrie Fischer. Tbh, Bowie living as long as he did and about 15 years longer than the average rock star with that biography and with how he completely destroyed himself in the 70ies, the fight to get away from alcohol, the lifelong chainsmoking, was a miracle. And probably a mix of turning his life around after the 70ies and just plain genetic luck, but the hard living still took its toll.
And I think many of these music stars have shaved off about 10/20 years of life expectancy in their youth and wild days. And pushing yourself for tours or work beyond your strength once you get older is often a factor as well. So I hope she takes care.
