Am I the only person who has noticed the increase of celebrities whose families try to use them to break into the business.
You know, with Beyonce's father trying to become a music mogul and her mother a fashion designer.
Jessica Simpson's family, her sister as a punk singer and her father as her manager.
Britney and her sister with Mommie Dearest controlling both their careers.

Don't forget the Lohans. Even though Ali Lohan has only a blip of a career it's not for lack of trying.
There's also the Kardashians. Kim K. is only famous for a big ass and a sex tape, but now somehow her sisters have to become reality show stars despite not having a big butt or a sex tape.
The trend here is the parents being the managers. That's when things get out of hand and we are subjected to someone like Ashlee Simpson act like she's punk rawk and Ali Lohan attempt to record a "hip hop" album or those God awful outfits Destiny's Child were forced to wear.

And those God awful Hogans. Blech. I wish reality shows had never caught on - if it weren't for them, we would have been spared so many of these pseudo-celebs and their stupid families - the Kardashians, Jenners, Lohans, now the Skeletor/Jlo "family.

I actually like the Kardashians, but the other pseudo-celebs U dislike on sight.

I don't understand why people think it's a good idea to invite cameras into their homes. I'm sure they just do it for the money, but is it really worth it? My family lives a pretty typical suburban middle class life, but I'm sure that some of the things we do and say through the course of the day would be like giving candy to a baby for a reality show editor. Lohans, Hogans, Osbornes, Kardashians, Jon and Kate, and dozens of other fame-seeking families, all these people invite the public into their homes and cry "unfair!" when they are judged on the behavior that is presented.

And most of them are rich anyway, so they don't even *need* the money. I must conclude that all of them are simply desperate to be relevant (before his reality show, when was the last time anyone cared about Hulk Hogan? The 1980s?). I also believe that a lot of the teenagers on these shows want to be famous (like when Brooke Hogan and Kelly Osbourne tried to become pop stars based on their reality show "fame"), and being on the family's reality show is a lot easier than going out and taking acting classes, singing classes, and working for it. I don't watch any celeb reality shows, personally, but unfortunately they are impossible to get away from because all the magazines write about them.

Celebrity family clans are nothing new - Douglas, Fonda, Barrymore, Sheen/Estevez, etc. - but it seems this discussion is based on reality show families. I don't really put them in the same league because, as others have pointed out, it seems the offspring often want to get fame and fortune solely based on their familial connection, skipping crucial elements like talent and hard work.

There's nothing stopping anyone from discussing one of the "old" entertainment families here -- the title of the thread encompasses every kind of showbiz family. Have at it.

Wait, what about the Cyruses, as in Billy Ray and Clan. I was watching Nashville Star, and a girl, no more than six, was opening the show, with an introduction of her daddy, Billy Ray.
Enough already!
