Elly needs Iris to leave town to update Grandpa on the family goings-on? Are they top-secret and not for non-true-Patterson ears?
And someone save us from Michael's speech.

Anthony's uncle is supplying the mens' formal wear? Huh? I guess this is supposed to mean he just happens to own a store that specializes in mens' wedding clothes but I'm just picturing Anthony's uncle as a guy randomly looking through thrift shops to find cheap tuxedos. As for the big "Where's Ned?" picture on the Foob website: considering where Ned was last time, I don't think I want to know.

Okay, wasn't it 2 weeks ago that everything about the wedding was completely fouled up? And now it's all good. Of course, Elly didn't mention any of the problem areas today, totally different stuff.

Oh, great--in addition to the flowers and everything else they've dumped on her, April has the added pressure of performing at the wedding. And who the hell gives speeches at weddings?

A self-important windbag like Michael. I'm guessing Liz didn't ask for this "favor."

Surely to God the speech will be delivered at the reception. I've attended a couple of weddings during which the minister would say a few words about the couple, but never someone else.

Surely to God the speech will be delivered at the reception. I've attended a couple of weddings during which the minister would say a few words about the couple, but never someone else. I've only seen it done once, but the speech was delivered by the bride's 8 million year old great-grandpa from the old country who was a retired minister himself. And it was more like a short, sweet anecdote followed by a little blessing (and lots of tears since the old guy looked like an adorable, creaky muppet and could only speak in a whisper). Michael's speech will go on for days. And it will be delivered from the choir loft, with the pipe organ music swelling dramatically in the background.

Joan from Peoria is at it again:
Why in the hell is this person's entries featured on Coffee Talk every day? This person just has to be a put on for our entertainment.

I'm sure Michael's speech will go on for at least twenty minutes and be all about him, not Liz and Anthony. "So, after I was born, my sister was born. I was such a good big brother to Liz. Liz always did look up to me. She had a lot of fun times with me. I inspired her. Speaking of inspiration, now I'd like to talk about my new novel, which was inspired by my own genius self..." And then maybe at the end he'll tack on something like "Oh yeah, and congrats to the bride and groom. Okay, the end."

I just realized something concerning Mike's speech: what if it somehow leads to a flashback or two? I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
