With all this talk about Cujo!Farley, maybe Stephen King is really a Greecie. I was pleasantly surprised that he actually singled out Foob in his column, even if I don't agree with him on Get Fuzzy which I use to love like he still apparently does but I only chuckle about once a month now when reading it.

Off-topic but, oooh, I HATE "Get Fuzzy".

Thanks for the Stephen King link, it's a good article. I liked his offhand dismissal of FooB. I also liked (but did not click on) the sidebar link that said TRL Finale: "It's like a funeral for our youth"

Regarding today's (Friday's, that is) strip, does anyone know who on earth Aunt Doreen is?

No clue about Aunt Doreen. She can't be Elly's sister so she has to be John's sister. Did the strip ever show John's family?

Aunt Bev, on the farm, is John's sister. And John's parents have been in the strip a time or two. But this is a very early strip, so I daresay "Aunt Doreen" is non-canon.

Aunt Doreen would have to be John or Elly's aunt, or the strip makes no sense. Not that I would expect Lynn to care at this point. I am so sick of Farley strips; we get it. The Pattersons have a troublesome, yet cute puppy. Move on. Gawd.

What was the name of John's aunt who came to "help" when April was born? She was obnoxious and had an equally obnoxious cat who made Farley's life miserable. Could that have been Doreen?

That was Fiona. She was a very distant cousin who had never seen John before in her life. She was a freeloader, and took advantage of the Pattersons' unwillingness to admit that they didn't know all of their relatives.

I don't think LJ plays golf, but maybe she should after reading today's PBS. She would fit right in with the cartoonists that are being mocked.
I wish I still had the energy to snark on things like why would Deanna lend out her dad's shirt to someone for paint day if she didn't want it to get dirty. Or even why she has two shirts, but one can't get dirty, except that it's just more of LJ's retchconning and making up implausible scenarios for the Kool-Aid Nation to go "aww" over.
