It does sound needlessly florid, and was actually written by a Lynnion relative:

Lynn's sister-in-law, Beth Cruikshank, has been writing biographies of the secondary FBorFW characters which you can read here in our Who's Who section. Our next upcoming bio is for Anthony Caine, Elizabeth's fiancé.

Michael would write Anthony as one of the following:

A WWII-era stay-at-home dad whose evil wife runs off to England to serve as a hospital nurse, where she falls in love with a dashing, but doomed, English patient under her care, or

Anthony hops onboard a tramp steamer to escape his horrible family life. When found out by the ship's crew, they ask him where he lives so that they can return the stowaway, and are astonished when he mewls "I have no hooooooome!!!" , so he ends up involved in escapades involving stolen pirate treasure, modern-day slave traders, and an evil siren who seduces then abandons him.

I don't understand why John is getting his tux "tomorrow" either. Is the wedding really going to be stretched to fill the next three weeks? Maybe Lynn is changing the wedding day because she realized (after being told by her uber-fans at CoffeeTalk) that it's the same freakin' day that Anthony married Therese. There is NO way any woman would pick the same wedding date as her soon-to-be-husband had with his first wife. No. way. And surely Anthony would know what his first wedding date was. Sloppy, sloppy.

And just to pick at some more nits, I HATE that Elly said, "They getting their formal wear from Anthony's uncle." Who calls it "formal wear"? Who? Everybody would just say tuxes, or maybe tuxedos. But it's so fake and stuffy to say formal wear.

It's like Lynn is just writing a Michael-style story and dialogue with no connection to how normal people in the real world talk, or behave.

Well, we're assuming that everybody is getting matching tuxes. However, since Anthony's family is now revealed to be sooooo evil, perhaps Unkie is handing out whatever is hiding in the depths of his inventory in the proper size (or whatever is close enough). So one person will be in morning coat, another gets white-tie and tails, one gets a powder-blue tux with over-ruffled shirt and so on and so forth.

I can't believe I checked to see if the new strip was up already at Yahoo! to see if there was anymore of this new Tony story in the actual strip. Now I don't think I'll be able to go to sleep because of the nightmares I'll have over the physical contact that Lynn finally has the Lizthony engaging in. There's just not enough puking emoticons to ever represent how bad today's strip is.

Plus, the strip actually contradicts the retcon bio. The bio makes it seem as if "Tony's" family is a black hole of dysfunction, but Liz just lurves his family? Great continuity (although that could be chalked up to what somebody at the FOOBiverse pointed out was the bio writer's formula - crappy childhood for all!).

Lynn's ass fetish is mindboggling. Lizthony look as if they've both dropped a load in their pants, and there's no reason in the first frakking place for the panel to be set up that way. They don't HAVE to be shown from behind, or if they do, the shot does not HAVE to include their gigantic rectangular butts.

After grousing for months about the lack of passion between Liz and "Tony", I kind of wish we'd kept our mouths shut. I hope that is the last display of physical affection we seen between the two. It made me cringe.

And the Sunday strip ticks off another box on the list of complaints - Elly spending time with Grandpa Chinnuts and Iris. About the only funny thing in the strips these days is watching Lynn's "Must Prove Snarkers Wrong" list get shorter and shorter.
