Well this is interesting. Someone commented on that article that Meyer's description of Edward matches Joseph Smith. I had never read that before. I didn't think this saga could get any odder.

I just got back from a screening! I'm still a little drunk from playing the FYA drinking game! I feel like I will only remember and love two things about this movie: 1)It has my undying gratitude from taking Lee Pace away from the cuddly, sweet roles I know him for and making him a superhot, sexy, bad vampire. 2)The final battle which was all kinds of awesome and totally fooled me, because I'd heard there would be surprise twists. And I actually loved that it was all a dream, because that was so Twilight. It was like the movie was saying "What, you thought awesome, amazing things were happening? Come off it! This is Twilight!"I did get emotional during the end credits. It's over! I'll never see Jacob's bare chest again! I'll never laugh at the wigs again! Seth Clearwater will never again make my ovaries explode with the cutest baby face in the world, Renesmee will never again make me cringe at the creepiest baby face in the world. It's all over.

I am totally just rubbernecking in this thread, but when you mention this: The final battle which was all kinds of awesome and totally fooled me, because I'd heard there would be surprise twists. And I actually loved that it was all a dream, because that was so Twilight. It was like the movie was saying "What, you thought awesome, amazing things were happening? Come off it! This is Twilight!"> does that mean < the *entire* vampire story thing was a dream and Bella is still just human Bella, or only the Volturi war bits, or the existence of Twilight altogether?>

They totally pulled a Dallas- but only of the final battle. If I see this- and that is a big IF that I would probably only consider so Bitca and I can snark about it afterwards- I would see it for the fight scene that never was.

It's basically the coolest moment in the whole franchise and goes on so long that you really do get swept into it and then it's like "Psych!" So Twilight.

Yeah I was laughing almost the entire time. Only good part was the battle. Only thing I was wondering was why the whole tribe didnt turn wolf if they turn when there are a bunch of vamps present. It wouldve given them a fighting advantage. Either way, it was just a fantasy.

I did get emotional during the end credits. It's over! I'll never see Jacob's bare chest again! I'll never laugh at the wigs again! Seth Clearwater will never again make my ovaries explode with the cutest baby face in the world, Renesmee will never again make me cringe at the creepiest baby face in the world. It's all over. The end credits were seriously the best part of the movie. The Two Victorias! I'm such a cheeseball, but I really do like that "Thousand Years" song. CGI Baby Renesmee creeped me the hell out. I love Michael Sheen and the Count von Count Transylvanian vampires for knowing what shit they're in and camping it up for all it's worth. The inevitable shirtless Jacob scene had us laughing our asses off. (The friend that called "thirty minutes" in the "how long into the movie is Jacob's shirtless scene" won.) The battle fakeout suckered me in. Wow, they're actually shaking shit up! This is exciting! Oh...it's fake? Knew it was too good to be true.
Once again, they completely glossed over the situation with Bella's father. Like he won't notice his "adopted" granddaughter reaching adulthood in a few years. Or that his daughter doesn't ever age.
And I don't understand why Maggie Grace (can't remember her Russian vampire name), with her superawesome vampire hearing, couldn't hear Renesmee's heartbeat and know she was human. Lame.

People keep posting vids of the battle because it's the only cool part of the movie. lol

I'm not sure if this should be spoilered, but is that ending really a "twist"? Isn't that the same thing that happened in the book? I don't give a shit about anything Twilight, but are people surprised that they'd go through all the trouble of filming something that was fake? I don't get the reaction to this being a twist, if this is exactly what happened in the book.
