I'm not sure if this should be spoilered, but is that ending really a "twist"? Isn't that the same thing that happened in the book? I don't give a shit about anything Twilight, but are people surprised that they'd go through all the trouble of filming something that was fake? I don't get the reaction to this being a twist, if this is exactly what happened in the book. It sort of happened in the book. The thing is that the book is from Bella's point of view so we only see what she sees and she doesn't see the part that is the 'twist' because it happens between two characters that aren't her-the reader knows its something bad but not exactly what was seen.

Thanks NappingAthena. So the actual "twist" is they shot the fight scene that only happened in Alice's and Micheal Sheen's mind. Got it. How absolutely dull. What a waste of celluloid. This franchise irks.

I've seen less than five minutes of these movies (Kellan Lutz brought a clip to Conan, and I got secondhand embarrassment for all involved), but I somehow found someone who was hate/drunk tweeting from the theater on Friday. My favorite had to be this tweet:

This franchise irks. I thought it really worked. You got to enjoy a whole lot of action and some truly OMG! moments, but the book-purists still got to have their perfect happy ending. Plus, there was was something cool and creepy about thinking that that ending was just seconds away from happening and the slightest wrong move from anyone could bring it about. It brought a tension to the Volturis being there that the book completely lacked.

So, it only took 5 movies and 10 hours of boredom to finally insert 10 minutes of something interesting happening (and it didn't even REALLY happen.) What a franchise!

There was a big battle scene in Eclipse as well and fights in all the other movies. It's just that in this one they were able to really go all out and have some truly things happen. But hey, I found ten hours of teen romance plenty entertaining. That's but a tiny fraction of the decade I spent watching One Tree Hill and no regrets at all here, baby!

If anyone sees the credit scene pop up somewhere, I'd love to see that breakdown.

They totally pulled a Dallas- but only of the final battle. If I see this- and that is a big IF that I would probably only consider so Bitca and I can snark about it afterwards- I would see it for the fight scene that never was. I don't even know what happens in the middle of the movie. I, literally, fell asleep for 20-30 minutes. (I'm 33, leave me alone, dammit!) During the matinee. The fight scene was awesome. Bella kicking Jacob's ass in the beginning was funny. (Kristen Stewart actually showed emotion!) I also appreciated that everyone's hair looked a thousand times better than it did in the original. It finally looked like human hair! (Aside from Carlisle.) I loved Lee Pace and Emmett. That was about it. I also never realized how fucked up Robert Pattinson's nose is until now. When it was over, my friend and I looked at each other. "Shit. What are we gonna make fun of, now?"

OK, I have seen the fight scene--Michael Sheen makes this movie. The smile on his face after he beheads you-know-who? I wanted to cheer. I loved it. He looked like he was having so much fun. I am convinced that you can see the other actors laugh when he did his hyena laugh.
The rest of it--oy. I cringed through pretty much every scene I watched. They looked like they were posing for a photo shoot. All of the reaction shots, the "walk into a room, stop, pose, say my line" scenes were so typical Twilight. And the over the top film score--this isn't Lincoln, gang. Let's dial it back a notch. It is nice to see that Robert Pattinson is continuing his smell the fart acting from the first movie. It's all about continuity.
They did pretty up VampBella--Kristen definitely fit in with the rest of the Cullen clan. But I am glad that I did not have to sit through the whole thing. I don't think I can take the secondhand embarrassment of listening to Peter Facinelli's faux British accent for two hours. These movies--how do they even say their lines without cracking up?
I admit that final battle kicked ass--I am all about giving credit where credit is due. Although Edward shooting up like a rocket made me snort with laughter. That does not even make any sense. Oh hell, I know this is Twilight, it is not supposed to make sense.

Yeah that was a wtf moment. If Mr. Sparkles could do that, why didn't he grab Leah on the way up?
I was shocked how they prettied up Kristen, or at least tried to since girl brings the horsey look. When they showed her memories from the first movie all the way to that point, it was a huge difference. I didn't realize how homely she looked before.
