He's been equally affectionate with his other costar Brit Marling. Skarsgard's stans keep very close tabs on him - very close - and he hasn't been seen with Ellen Page at all outside of work, except for that one hockey game a year ago. (He has been seen hooking up with a lot of randoms though.) To quote Michael K, "I don't think ASkars and Ellen Page are dating, but if they are, then who ever put them together needs to have their beard matching certificate revoked. That shit isn't even close to being believable." Okay. Well, I'm not really invested in them either way, but I still don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that they could be dating. And if they're not then it certainly seems like they want people to think they are (hence, their director tweeting that pic of them cuddling knowing full well what kind of speculation it would cause). Maybe they're just close friends with benefits. I don't care how much his stans think they know, they don't know EVERYTHING (and often a celebrity's "stans" seem to have their perception clouded a bit by craziness). |

Somebody put out a statement to People Magazine that it's not true. I was just worried it was going to be like when Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt went around pretending they were in love in order to promote their movie (and in order for Spacey to pretend he's not gay). That was the final straw for my Spacey love.
I think Alex and Ellen really are good friends and didn't expect The Daily Fail to make such a big deal out of that picture.

The Daily Mail is doing their best to come up with stories about his love life. They wrote that he'd been dating Ellen Page for a year, then a couple of weeks later they got a picture of him standing three feet away from Alicia Vikander and wrote almost exactly the same article about how he and Alicia had been dating for a year. It was such a cut-and-paste job they forgot to take some of the Ellen Page stuff out of the article, so it said he and Alicia met when they costarred in The East.  Anyway, he has been officially single for a really long time. I'm pretty he's not celibate, so it's a little weird that the press rarely if ever catches him with whomever he's really sleeping with. |

He probably is feeling sad or at least a bit wistful, just like most people would be over a fairly-recent ex getting married.
