The teenage victim who is now in her 50s doesn't seem to be defined by this. In other words, she doesn't seem angry or to have a vendetta against him along the lines "I'm going to get him, hell or high water, he must do jail time. He ruined my life!" She seems more inclined towards just him acknowledging what he did was very wrong and please don't victim shame me by saying I was too provocative for my age.

The thing that bothers me about the victim, obviously beyond the fact that she was drugged and raped as a young girl, is the fact that she's not vindictive because she just wants it to GO AWAY. What is probably the most traumatic time of her life is constantly brought up in the news, along with requests for interviews and statements, and all because her rapist chose to run rather than face his punishment. Had he gone to jail and served his time, she would not be forced to constantly relive this crime in the public eye. He victimized her AGAIN by running, and now I feel like she's almost forced to say "I'm fine, I want it over with, let him come back" because the alternative is having to talk about it over and over again.

I still say "holocaust, who cares" because I don't think the holocaust or his wife's murder had anything to do with him drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. Polanksi is just another creepy asshole pedo (who would have been that way regardless of life circumstances) who was in a position of power and thought it would be a great idea to drug a teenager and force his penis into her. They're a dime a dozen in Hollywood (and lots of other places) and he's just one more.

I'm sorry that she didn't remain anonymous. (How was her identity revealed anyway? Did she willingly come forward or was that info leaked?)

I'm sorry that she didn't remain anonymous. (How was her identity revealed anyway? Did she willingly come forward or was that info leaked?) I just did some quick Googling. Her lawyer wrote in Samantha's memoir that she was anonymous up until Polanski fled, and then that made the case too interesting for the press to leave alone and her identity came out. So it was Polanski's fault. And based on the small excerpt I read, her lawyer thinks Polanski should be brought to justice, regardless of the victim's forgiveness.

Ironically, one of the LaBianca kids decided to forgive her parents' murderers and was actively trying to get parole for Tex Watson and some of the other Manson family killers. I wonder how Roman would have felt if her forgiveness had allowed his wife's killers to walk free.

Hah, he was denied his latest attempt to force his way back into this country. News flash Pedolaski, you don't have the right to go wherever you want in the world.

I love that he keeps on trying and keeps on being denied. Like hitting refresh on a webpage when your internet connection's dead. "Try it again, Roman; I bet they've fixed it by now!" F5 F5 F5...

Not dead, but a fourth victim has come forward to accuse Roman Polanski of raping her twice in 1972.
