Defamer posted a link that says a conspiracy by powerful African Americans brought the show down.

I gotta love any conspiracy theory in which Mario Cantone plays a pivotal role.

Sounds like Chapelle is suffering from delusions of persecution. Poor guy.

I laughed at the ChappelleTheory site. Granted I am willing to go along with most conspiracy theroies to a point. But when Oprah is talking to just you thru the TV it is time to put the bong down!

The thing that really got me was it states that Oprah heard about the content of Chappelle's show through Rosie O'Donnell (Mar 03) First of all, it was right after Rosie came out, had magazine troubles, and was portrayed sort of mean in the media, so I don't think she'd be chummy with people then. And since Rosie is centered in New York, and Oprah tapes her show in Chicago, it's doubtful they'd be lunching in West Hollywood on a weekday. (Okay, I need to analyzing conspiracy theories now). Whether it's a conspiracy or paranoia, I hope everything works out for him.

That's either a satire (Al Sharpton and Oprah breaking into homes in the middle of the night in rural Ohio??) or else it's what Chappelle really told people, in which case he quite clearly has severe psychiatric problems.

I can see where some big-wigs such as Cosby and others, whom Dave may have respected, getting peeved at some of his material and letting him know it. But to take it as far as taking over his tv and temporarily ruining his credit...weird. Maybe he felt guilty and that drove him crazy.
I hope he gets help soon.

One of the most ironic parts is that Whoopie Goldberg is named as one of the conspirators. One of her early comedy specials that came out soon after the whole "Hymietown" scandal broke had a couple of jokes about Jesse Jackson and then onstage she made the comment she wanted the jokes taken out because she was afraid of what the Jesse Jackson and company would do.
Comedy Central is heavily promoting Chappelle Show Season 3 starts in January, so apparently they've managed to cobble together a few episodes.
If there was a conspiracy against those found to embarrass African American culture, would the Wayan Brothers still be making movies, i.e. Scary Movies 1&2 and White Girls?

Don't forget Don't Be A Menace While Drinking Gin and Juice and it's mocking parodies.... Dave? I am inclined to believe that he quit because he has a rare thing in show business...a tiny modecum of "integrity". And he was physically stressed to the point of exhaustion. I still want to believe that that "conspiracy" stuff didn't come from him and that dude is not crazy. He's crazy talented but not crazy insane. Just stressed and in need of a short break and a well deserved holiday with his family somewhere nice. In the meanwhile I am surprised Comedy Central are going ahead with Season 3. But if they think what they cut and pasted together is all quality material so be it. But I have a feeling there will be a lot of filler in there.
