From the "Theory":
Is it even technologically possible to broadcast something to just to ONE HOUSE? Because the Tom Cruise show was one of Oprah's highest rated broadcasts in years. Had the affiliate sent that message out to everyone in their broadcasting area, we damn well would've heard about it.
Whoever wrote that should've known when to quit.

And even if they could send it to one specific house (hey, my cable company knows I don't get HBO, right?), how would they have any clue he would watch that specific broadcast that day? Did they know he had a season pass for it or something?

Damn.
I think that the ultimate answer to all conspiracies has GOT to be linked to Tom Cruise. That man is the root of all evil. I hope that Dave recovers and comes back healthy and sane. I miss his skits!

Hello longtime lurker here! I usually don't have time to post after I've read everything but this really peaked my interest. I don't believe this theory is directly coming from Dave. I also don't believe its all true. Oprah in his bedroom? Wouldn't a couple of payed thugs have done the job just as effectively? But I don't doubt that there was intense pressure on Chappelle to either change his show or get off the air. Bill Cosby and Oprah Winfrey have both taken on very public roles as 'African-American leaders of the Entertainment Industry'. Oprah in particular always finds her grip on any emerging African American star and insists that they listen to her advice. She fancies herself as some sort of 'Godmother role' that I find arrogant. Many seem to heed to her and those she reprimands like Ludricas (who spoke of this publicly) don't care for her one bit. I don't think that Comedy Central could be influenced by pressure by this supposed group but I wouldn't be surprised it was easy to 'get' to Chappelle as he might have already been ripe to mess with in the first place. I imagine that if he were harassed it would probably be by simplier means that wouldn't involve such a large cast of 'outsiders' i.e. the police department, credit card companies, etc. Now a conspiracy theory that involved the government would be so much more fun because you could rope all different types of characters in the mix. Whatever the case I have my DVDs and will eagerly await the season three shows.

I have read about this 'theory' on several other messageboards and honestly, I don't believe any of that shit.
Whatever drove that fool off the air was something personal, in my opinion, and I say so long to complete rot.

If Dave really believes prominent African American leaders in politics or entertainers consipred to drive him off the air and succeeded he needs to get over himself.
He was stressed out and needed a break. And who knows what relations were like between him and Comedy Central. His mini (or full bown?) breakdown was looming for a while and he had been behaving strangely. Didn't the producer say with the way Dave was there was no way they could expect to get the full Season Three together?
This stuff happens all the time. He was overworked, under pressure and extremely stressed. Human beings can only carry on like that for so long before something has got to give. It's not Dave's fault. Maybe though he should have looked after himself more. Maybe with his work schedule he just couldn't?
He did a great job with that show. I'm sure he can produce more great work in future.

Bumping to say that he will be on Oprah Friday. Which is kind of funny considering she is one of the alleged conspiritors against Dave in the Chappelle Theory. I guess he is discussing why he walked away from the $50mil deal at Comedy Central.

Or she has his wife locked in the basement of her house and is demanding he say on her show that he walked away because Hermes wouldn't let him in after hours.
