It's not like I expected it to be good, Dwanie Dearest. Bad movies are our thing, remember? Gosh, we just had BMN last night - oh right, you weren't invited!
I also picked up "The Group" which may also work for the chicklit/shopping and fucking book club.

I managed to graduate from a women's college with the equivalent of a minor in women's studies and only read The Group last year. It was really interesting, but I still think "The Best of Everything" was superior. Blasphemy! Burn me alive! Which is not to say I didn't enjoy it thoroughly.
The best thing about the "Scruples" mini-series is a baby Kim Cattrall as Melanie. Perfect, perfect casting. The only even approaching perfect casting in the whole thing.

Peggy - from what I glanced over on Wiki about "Best of Everything," it TOTALLY seems like it would work for Book Club. Get thee to the thread!

Something in this new Jackie Collins interview is puzzling me: Am I hallucinating or did Lucky's son Bobby get raped/molested when he was kidnapped and he was just a little boy? I may be confusing this with another book; people are always getting raped or molested in Collins' novels, after all.

Spoiler: IIRC, Bobby was about to be molested by the kidnapper (who had already raped Brigitte in front of him) when she got a gun and shot him.

On a thrift store run I found another book by Shirley Conrad, the genius behind "Which one of you bitches is my mother" (formally known as "Lace").
Y'all, its called "Savages". It's about a group of rich executive wives who barely escape when their luxury hotel on a tiny island off the coast of New Guinea is attacked. They survive many months avoiding cannibals and starvation. Imagine if you combined the female cast of "Dynasty" with the storyline of "Lord of the Flies."
Absolutely sublime ridiculousness. I loved it.

If y'all could come back to discuss the horrific awesomeness of this novel, I'd really appreciate it.

It will likely take me a few months, Peggy Lane, as work has taken over my waking hours 7 days a week now. But, I will come back to revel in it with you.
