The Elena/Damon pairing is feeling forced and clunky to me, not on Damon's part but on Elena's. I'm not attached to any particular relationship in "the Triangle" but I'd like for whatever happens to feel organic. From the minute this season started (and haven't there only been 2-3 episodes?), as soon as there was a Damon and Elena scene and Elena started speaking/interacting with Damon, I said, "Clunky." I hoped it would settle into a groove or something but it hasn't yet. Her making puppy eyes at Damon and accidentally on purpose being all up in his space just doesn't come off right. Maybe they're trying to start it too quickly into the season? I dunno. I'm not feeling it.
ETA: I like his hair better than last season. He's looking a little on the skinny side, though. I miss Elijah.

I'm confused. Why doesn't Katherine/Stefan/Damon/anyone simply wake up all of the rest of Klaus's family? Yes, he "killed" them all but not at the same time. If they all woke up pissed and conspired together, Klaus would be dead. Caroline and Damon are the best parts of this show - Damon for his quips and Caroline for her general awesomeness.

Because it would be too easy! Lol! I'm curious about that vampire hunter that was after Klaus and his sister. They seemed genuinly scared of him.

I wanted Stephen to open all those coffins and start yanking the knives out of all the bodies... then Klaus would have to deal with a bunch of pissed off relatives looking for payback.

Agreed. I always want to fast-forward through any scenes they are not in (especially anything involving Jeremy and/or Matt). I can't even make myself care about Stefan's storyline, really. He gets on my nerves anyway. And while I agree that the Elena/Damon romance (or whatever the hell it is) is clunky, anything that gets IS more screentime is fine with me. He's hot AND fun to watch. It's kind of funny to me that the writers seem to be shoehorning in at least one Damon/Elena "moment" per episode. Um, we get it, guys.
Yeah, Stefan really needed to just yank those knives out and be done with it. He is SO not stealthy and he's a terrible liar. He totally screwed himself.
Nina Dobrev is infinitely more fun to watch as Katherine.

I can get past the bug eyes due to the extreme hotness. I'm that shallow. (But ugh, I do hate when he does that. It does not add to the character, dude. It just makes you look insane. Maybe that's what he's going for?)

Stefan is awesome when he's not brooding and instead trolling Damon and Elena. I'm okay with Delena happening - never thought I'd write that, but Elena's character is ruined anyway - as long as the writers give us more scenes of Stefan being a total cockblock.

Awesome episode — so much happened! So I guess the inevitable Tyler/Caroline angst will now begin (I'm guessing Tyler will be a little too gung-ho about being a hybrid for Caroline's comfort, or he'll be super out of control, a la Stefan when he was first turned). Which sucks, because I love them. That last scene was awesome, although it's Season 1 all over again, only this time, Stefan's the snarky, crazy, unpredictable brother and Damon's the good guy, I guess? I hope Damon keeps some edge. His craziness and smartass quips are the best things about the character (although if he's really going to be a "good guy" now, which I don't know is the case, maybe it'll make him tone down the bug eyes, so win?). Although, what the hell — Elena loses a ton of blood, and Damon's first instinct is to give her whiskey? Yeah, that'll help. Idiot. I guess he figures whiskey is a cure-all. Loved how Klaus just hauled ass as soon as he heard Michael might be gunning for him. Rebekah (Rebecca? I don't know) annoys me, though. This awesome recap captures my disdain for her pretty well. Jeremy and Katherine sure make an interesting duo. I am thinking waking up Michael will probably not work out well for most of the vamps. I hope it's as awesome as I think it will be.
