Can they change Ian Somerhalder's hair? I don't like it.

The writing and dialogue for this show is as bad as anything you'd see in Twilight yet the actors seemed to do okay with it. Now I'm thinking the actors in Twilight have no excuse for their bad acting.

Somerhalder makes this thing worth watching. Unfortunately, it takes more than one hot character to keep me watching - it takes two! Ha! Seriously though, this show does need to lay off the leads a bit - they are too emo as everyone has pointed out. I wouldn't mind seeing more of the psychic best friend. She's actually interesting - would love to see her paired with Somerhalder for some good scary stuff.

ETA: Thought I recognized the actor that plays Stefan - he was on Wolf Lake playing a teenager (8 years ago.) So yeah - he is no teenager. It wouldn't be that big a deal if they weren't trying to play him off as one though. Unless I missed the part where he was revealed to be older before he vamped out.

I hope they stop with the "character looks into mirror, looks away, looks back and *eek* monster behind her!!!!" scenarios. They did it at least twice in the second episode.

From what I can remember of the books, I think the brothers were older than high school when they were turned. Still, lead dude is painful to look at. I don't care how old he is. Elena's boring as mud. I think in the books Caroline was a total frenemy, too.

I'll just ff to the Ian scenes. He's amusing and hot. He'll do.

I think the eyeball thing the bad guy Vamp does to get girls to do his bidding is mildly cool. Beyond that I got nothing.

I don't understand Stephan's face. One minute he looks sort of handsome; the next minute he kind of looks like Jay Leno.

Okay – just caught up on the last two episodes. I admit that I am hooked now that the suspense has ramped up. Damon really is a psycho, and he is creeping me out big time. When he was in bed with Caroline, and she asked, “Are you going to kill me?” He so non-chalantly said, “yes” as he kissed her. Meep. Mr. Somerhalder, you are good; that scene was horrifying. Loved Elena’s sass when Damon tried to kiss her too - so nice to see a girl with a spine. Oh and so the older townsfolk know…ruh roh.

Good episode! Again, I was meh until the end. Can't wait to see a pitchfork weilding mob form.

Loved how they were poking fun at Twilight too.

It's the love triangle that kills me, but I agree that Ian really makes this show. He's the most interesting character on it. But at least the actors aren't that bad. I recently watched One Tree Hill and the actors on that show are far worse.

The lead actress is a nice looking girl, but there are moments where I think she's trying to be more cute than real and it just doesn't come off well. I've never noticed the wonk eye thing though.
