Guys, I'm obsessed. A friend recommended the show to me and I wound up watching all 13 eps in two days. Obsessed! It is so well written and plotted, I was shocked. And Boone! Can act! And they are willing to kill off characters, and there have been some great twists - the one about Catherine in the last ep being a really good one.
Love it! Can't wait for it to come back!

I know. That was really sad. This show kills off people like nothing I've ever seen. It is really well paced too - I never get bored.
Alaric is hot. Damon is hot. Elena's brother is even hot. *fans self* But, it's the plot...really.

The cast is actually huge and just when you get sick of someone (ie Bonnie) they seem to disappear for awhile to give you a break. I'd totally forgotten about Tyler Lockwood and then he pops up again (ya, another hottie). With the size of the cast and the dramatic entrances and exits, it is totally a soap opera for the new age. Fav character: Matt. Wish he had more screen time.

This show's plot reminds me of the old Dark Shadows soap... what happened 200 year ago affecting what is happening today, and vampires being around who remember both times.
I think there whould be at least one vampire who would have a hard time learning to live in today's society, what with the cell phones and cars. I'd like to see (for comic affect) one vamp who gets vapors whenever a girl in tight jeans walks by. Breeches on women, Oh My!
And I agree - the men on this show are smoking Hot.

I must catch up. Several shows are clogging up my TiVo. Does anyone lose interest when a show goes on hiatus? I've gotten into this habit.

It's been almost a week and I'm still bitter over Pearl's untimely passing. (Well. As bitter as one can be over a vampire show.) I will be incredibly pissed if Anna dies, too. Or Jeremy! Anna's already lost her mother again, she doesn't need to lose him too.
I'm not worried about Stefan, Damon, or Elena because they're the three main characters.
Also, this is probably an unpopular opinion because I've heard so much fuss made over the eye candy on this show - but I couldn't care less about how hot the guys are. And honestly, I don't find the two main guys - Damon and Stefan - to be that hot. Well, okay, compared to the rest of us mere mortals, of course they're hot. But in Hollywood-land? Not really. Ian Somerhalder isn't aging very well IMO, although that could just be because of how much make-up the show pancakes on him every week. And Paul Wesley seems manorexic when I compare him to his Wolf Lake days. (Although, he looks a lot better than he did at the start of the season.) Steven R. McQueen and Matthew Davis are pretty easy on the eyes, though.
Hah, yes. It happened to me both times that this show went on hiatus. And then I'd finally watch the first post-hiatus episode and get sucked right back in.
I'm a bit worried about the breakneck pacing though. Enjoying it right now, but I can't see how they'll keep up the momentum in season 2.

I feel like I'm talking to myself in here, heh...
Call me slow, but I so did not see Katherine making a reappearance at the very end. Silly me, I believed Kevin when he said in an interview that she wouldn't be showing up in season 1. So I didn't cotton on to her until she chopped off Uncle John's fingers. Oops.
And I'm peeved with the show killing off Anna. It seems like a disproportionate number of the badass female characters are getting offed. Can't we have one good female vamp on the show?? Katherine is badass, but she's evil. Isobel wasn't totally evil, but she wasn't good either. Why couldn't we have killed off Tyler instead? He's useless, and IDGAF about his upcoming storyline (where he apparently turns into a werewolf).
Wonder if Jeremy is really going to turn into a vamp? Dying by ODing on pills is a lot more difficult than it sounds, I think. He should have just jumped off a building instead.

I'm here too! so talk away.
LOVED that finale. So many cliffhangers! I breathed a sigh of relief that Matt was saved, I really thought he was a goner. So that's what's up with Mayor Lockwood and Tyler? Wow!
The kiss between Katherine and Damon was hot. More please!
Now, can we get rid of Stefan? He's such a downer /Damon.

I figured out that it was Katherine a bit after the uncle closed the refrigerator door and she was standing there. It didn't feel right - Elena said that she totally avoided the guy, so it didn't make sense that she would purposely stand there in confrontation. And then she was putting away knives, and I just knew it was her. I rarely guess any of this stuff, so I'm shocked that I got it. Showing the hand getting chopped off shocked me though! Ick.
I think that Damon knows it's not Elena that he was kissing. I know that they look alike, but they have to smell different, and he definitely got close enough to smell her.
Jeremy's storyline really gets to me. He really is a depressed teenager, and it's just so sad to see. I don't think that he'll vamp out. I think that Elena will call the paramedics to come and attend to her near-dead uncle, and then they'll find/revive Jeremy.
Glad Mayor Lockwood is dead - what a dick! I was also sad to see Anna go.
Damn, I will miss this show while it's on hiatus. It's my only must-see TV anymore (besides Supernatural) - even Lost has lost its lustre. Heh.
