Plus I thought that Vampires could sense each other. But I get my Twilight mythology and my V. Diaries mixed up frequently.

I'm worried that TVD will become the next Heroes. That is, a great first season, followed by a sharp nosedive in quality.
I don't think so. I seem to recall an episode where Stefan addressed that very issue.

OT: Does anyone know where I can view "Unpleasantville" for free? I lagged behind on my TV viewing (again). I must watch every episode from January on. For some reason "Unpleasantville" didn't record. Hulu directs me to the CW, who in turn only has the last four episodes. I always pay to download music, but I hate to do so for TV shows. It seems silly that networks don't stream the past season of shows; they should do so until the DVDs come out. I'm in the same boat with Gossip Girl. I need to watch the last several episodes. If you know of a site for it that would be great. (I had to delete them. My TiVo was running out of space.) Once I catch up with Vampire Diaries, Life Unexpected, and hopefully Gossip Girl I'll never get behind again. Why do I get behind on CW shows? I blame their damned hiatuses!

Damon should at least have been able to detect the lack of a heartbeat if he was that close to her face...
That comes from absorbing about a million different alternating vampire storylines from books and movies. God, I need a better hobby.

S2 preview from Comic Con. The quality sucks, but it looks amazing! Nina looks great as Katherine!

I am SO EXCITED for this to come back this week! You guys really need to start watching. I'm not joking that it is a really well-written show.

Wow, love love the season premiere tonight! Every single episode so far is like a mini-movie, the pacing, the acting are excellent.

Damon is such an irredeemable asshole. Which would be fine, as evil characters can be great fun, except it makes me wonder - are the writers seriously going to angle for a love triangle at some point? Because the only way it'd be believable is if they gave Elena a lobotomy in the process. I just can't imagine a girl who would willingly go for the guy who:
1. Compelled and raped one of her best friends (I consider what Damon did to Caroline to be rape, since she presumably wouldn't have kept sleeping with him if he hadn't compelled her to forget that he was a vampire). 2. Tried to kill another one of her best friends. 3. Killed various other townspeople willy nilly. 4. Tried to murder her little brother.
If Elena hooks up with Damon, she'll be worse than Bella in terms of dumbass heroines.

I don't know what they'll do with Elen and Damon - if it does happen, I don't think it'll be this season. I wouldn't be surprised if Elena and Stefan split at some point, but by then Damon is involved with someone else - you know, loooong drawn-out romantic tension. They can milk that relationship for ages.
Seriously, how great was the premiere? I love how much action they pack into each episode. And the twists! Jeremy and the ring! Caroline as a vamp! Damon back to being bad! The execution of this show is really fantastic. Can't wait for next week!
