Does anyone have any gossip on the Betty White/Bea Arthur feud? I heard that Bea called Betty the C-word. Or maybe it was Betty that said it about Bea? I don't know why they didn't like each other; they're both awesome. I genuinely love them all, the Golden Girls. I wish they were all best friends in real life. |

According to Rue McClanahan recently, it was a difference in working styles. Bea was a theater-trained thespian who never broke the fourth wall, and it bugged her that Betty was a big ham who played up to the live studio audience. Doesn't sound like much of a basis for calling someone the c-word, but I guess Rue was trying to be diplomatic.

Awesome! I'm going to have to tune in to see that.
Even if this story is fake, I love love love the tale going around that Betty White sent a get well card to Rue McClanahan (who had a recent stroke) that said "I hope you hurry up and die so I can be the last Golden Girl. NOT KIDDING!"
