Whoa, that was Gabby Hoffman? I totally didn't recognize her.
I can't tell how much of her look last night was them frumping her up, and how much was just "not pretty."
Yeah, this is something that Alicia is learning, and it's been interesting to watch. She probably naively thought she had this lovely marriage, then she finds out that her husband has been banging hookers. She kinda swoons over Will, probably remembering him as the idealistic young guy he was back in law school, and I think that's cooled a bit since she's figured out that he's a bit gray too. Even Diane - I think Alicia has been a bit surprised at what Diane will do to make a profit for the firm.
And while she knows that Kalinda kinda operates in the shadows, I think she believes that their friendship is "pure" and when she finds out about Kalinda and Peter, she's going to be heartbroken.
I wonder if Alicia herself will ever go a bit gray, or will she mostly remain a "white hat" and just learn how to navigate the gray world a bit better?
ETA: I love that Michael J. Fox will be back next week. And I love that he's not just the "crippled saint" you see so often on television. Yes, he has a disability, but he's also a slimeball lawyer. And I absolutely love how Alicia never feels sorry for him, and she's always like "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck" when she has to go against him in court.

I have no idea how those two actor were able to keep a straight face in the scene with the lion phone. Love it when the show brings the funny. Also, I want a lion phone!!
I was glad to get a bit of a Kalinda break this episode but it'll be interesting to see where this story goes. They're having Alicia get all these job offers so maybe in a very un-Alicia emotional moment she'll decide to leave the company? I don't know.
Michael J. Fox was great as usual, he's awesome as this annoying slimeball. Not so awesome is Elizabeth Reaser. I'll admit, I don't like her acting at all, not matter what I've seen her in but it doesn't help that she's playing the season's worst character IMHO.

Talking lion! The lion phone was hilarious. Nice to see Denis O'Hare back as the judge. Love him. This was definitely a more lighthearted episode than the last few. I am looking forward to the whole Peter/ Kalinda thing to come to a head though. Michael J. Fox was great but I hope they don't make him a regular if the show gets renewed. (and it better get renewed damnit!) I prefer him in small doses. I also don't think it would make sense for her to work for him. I could see her get tired of Lockhart and Gardner's shadiness but he is just as bad if not worse. I too dislike Elizabeth Reaser in everything. She just oozes smugness. I wish she had gone to London.

The lion was awesome. I want to have all serious conversations with my boss through a talking lion. I cannot stand Tammy. She's such a child. Unfortunately, with Alicia telling both Tammy and Will that there is nothing more between them, and Stern's death making Will afraid of dying alone, I think Will's going to do something stupid with Tammy. I can see her demanding a bigger commitment in exchange for not going to London, and that dummy with probably get engaged to her. I like how things are slowly unfolding with the Peter/Kalinda thing. Last week Alicia had no idea, this week she knows there's a "rumor" that Peter was involved with a co-worker, so now she's suspicious. They are working their way to the poo hitting the fan. I can't picture Alicia working for Canning. She thinks he's too slimy. But if this whole mess (plus Will getting engaged to that idiot - not a spoiler, my speculation) really hurts her, I can see her running away. I loved Eli losing his shit this episode. And I love how much he likes Alicia. She brings out his human side. ETA: Here is the talking lion clip. That will never not be funny. My favorite part is the long pause before he says Cary's name. The Lion looks so serious.

I thought the whole Venezuelan case was really bizarre from Fred Thompson's appearance to the fake Chavez going on about Courtney Love. Although the line about where is her academy award made me laugh. The ending was great though, Alicia's breakdown was well done. I'm glad they didn't drag out Alicia finding out for too long. Chris Noth really should have been in this episode though. I can't wait to see the fallout but I think there isn't another new episode until May.
I don't know if she got fresh botox or what but Juliana Marguiles has looked really refreshed in the last 2 episodes. I'm not complaining, if it is some kind of work it looks good and subtle. But she does look different.

I think maybe JM just got better makeup and lighting, because I recently saw some candid pics of her on the set, and she had plenty of age-appropriate lines.
The whole Chavez and Fred Thompson stuff was a little too goofy, but I liked the way America's character came into play. I hope we see her again somehow and her path crosses with Eli's.
Speaking of Eli, I love the relationship between him and Alicia. I hope he comes back next season, if only to see more of it.
I think this just might be the end of the Florrick marriage. Alicia doesn't want the house or the trappings of being a political wife, and now she finds out his betrayal went further than she thought. I could see her publicly playing along so Peter can save face, but I believe she'll want out.
This sucks for her friendship with Kalinda. Kalinda should have told her when she had the chance. At least she tried to push Will forward so Alicia would have a support system.

Eli is great. Since they mentioned before about Diane possibly becoming a judge and now Peter maybe running for senate I expect he would be involved with one of those campaigns.
I loved Cary asking Kalinda to put in a good word for him with Peter before she told Alicia about her and Peter. Guess it is too late now.

Except if the Florrick marriage is over, how does that work with the show's title? It's all about Alicia being a good wife; whether it's meant sincerely or facetiously, she still has to be a wife.
The Fred Thompson thing was kind of meta, nobody mentioning him by name, having an actor from a TV legal drama appear as an actual actor from a TV legal drama as himself on a TV legal drama. I liked his response to "they've hired an actor?" as "Before that, I was a lawyer for 42 years". (Sheesh, how old is he?)
America Ferrera is a great addition to the cast; I hope she's recurring. I'm sick of SuperKallinda and all her shenanigans and save-the-days; I'm probably the only viewer of this show who isn't totally enamoured of the character. She's just a little too smug for me.
The whole Venezuala-Chavez-Courtney Love thing was, uh, weird.

Someone brought that up in an interview with the Kings and it sounded like they thought she doesn't necessarily have to be a wife.

I don't like the way they dress her up like a comic figure. Coupled with the über-confidence she really does come across as smug. I didn't like Blake but I found her awful too in that whole drama, especially with her smashing his car windows and hitting him with a baseball bat. I'm sure viewers would have been quite upset if it that had been the other around but somehow we were expected to find her cool in those scenes (the music in the car smashing scene was quite telling IMHO).
