I watch it and I always enjoy it. The storylines involving the intrigue of Peter's political life seem overblown and are getting a little tiresome, but that is a minor quibble. There's always an interesting case going on at the law firm that makes up for it when the ongoing storylines are a little weak.
It's funny how all the romantic tension disappeared between Alicia and Will and I don't miss it. I suppose they'll revive it in a future season.
I'm waiting for them to reveal that Kalinda is really British, like her husband (who made some remarks about how she invented a new persona for herself).
For a show that has so many interesting cases it's weird that it's not really a water cooler show. I watch it, but I never really have an urge to go dissect it like I do with Mad Men or other shows.

Yes, the show last night (a repeat from a few weeks ago) was about putting up the best/perfect LGBT rights case before the Supreme Court. And if it was fair to screw the litigants so they would lose their case, need to appeal, and have that perfect case available for a Supreme Court hearing.
Very timely...

Good to know that the cases are still juicy. Grace is a really stupid girl. How the hell is she so dim with Peter and Alicia as parents? Sorry. Had to get that out. She is the only character that annoys me right now.

I love this show for the same reason a lot of people here do - it's a show for grown-ups. And it's done well.
The only time this show has disappointed me was this season with Kalinda's husband. I don't know if it was the writing or if the actor was miscast, but I could not see why Kalinda didn't kick his lame ass the moment he showed up nor why he seemed to have a hold over her. Now, I could see it if the dude were really charismatic and magnetic (plenty of movies/tv shows have guys who are evil but irresistible) but Nick just seemed like a two-bit thug. And way too lame for someone like Kalinda. I'm glad the producers realized it was going over like a lead balloon and cut the storyline short.
ETA: Oh, god - yes, on Grace. How can one child (Zach) be so smart while the other is so stupid and naive? She really is way too clueless for someone her age. But maybe that is due at least in part to Alicia's over protectiveness.

I'm in the middle of the storyline involving Kalinda's husband, and it can't end fast enough for me. He's a tedious little punk with absolutely zero charisma, and my dislike for him is actually rubbing off on Kalinda.
I really like Alicia's storyline. There's sort of a modern-day Feminine Mystique thing going on with Alicia awakening to what she wants her life to be. She's feeling out how she wants her career as well as love life. I feel a little sorry for Will since he obviously loves her, and she's rightly just moving on as best as she can which may not include him. He seems to be happy just getting bits of her.
While I'm on the subject of Will, Elizabeth Reeser's character was atrocious as is the ex cocaine addict that he's been flirting with recently. Is this really the best that one of Chicago's hottest bachelors can do? And on a not-really-necessary to the show note, I miss the hot scenes between Alicia and Will. The elevator one was romantic and adult and...sigh.

But maybe that is due at least in part to Alicia's over protectiveness. Maybe Grace's room has a lead paint problem? Something has to explain her chronic stupidity and bizarre immaturity. Politicians' kids simply aren't this unaware. "But Mom, why can't I join a religious cult? Why can't I make friends with some weirdo college girl who humps strangers on the subway? Why can't I date some loser I made out with behind the gym or tell total strangers my opinions on Israel while they point their iPhones at me? You're being meeean, Mom!" She's a moron. The critics' and internet's opinion on Kalinda's husband is unanimous. I suspect he'll be gone like Poochy in January. "Let us never speak of this again." Why the producers thought this sawed-off Cockney runt was a good fit for the show... I just can't figure that out. He was supposed to be this super dangerous guy but all I could see was a twerp who'd get his ass handed to him in a high school locker room fight.

I’m not a Kalinda fan, but I thought it was ridiculous when they had her verbally stumbling over the names of mosquito species. It’s not like these were overly difficult names and the second one (which carried the West Nile virus) had "egyptii" in its name. Surely Kalinda is smart enough to not only recognize that, but actually say the word egyptii.
It was good to see Michael J. Fox again; I always wonder how much medication he takes before his scenes. I just heard this morning that he’s been signed to NBC for his own show, so I guess his part on The Good Wife will wrap up this season as he tackles that.
Loved that mountain lodge, so pretty.

I think that was their little way of responding to the complaint of fans that Kalinda is an invincible supergirl who always knows everything. When fans were griping about how unrealistic it is that Lockhart Gardner wins almost all their cases, they turned that into the "Will must be bribing judges" storyline.
I think they have yet to adequately address why a firm that wins so many cases is in such dire financial straits.
I am already over the Wendy Scott Carr/Eli Gold subplot.

I had that thought too – the mosquito stumbling being the anti-Super Kalinda. But honestly, does she have to now be Stupid Kalinda? Are those the only two options?
And, although I’m used to it since it’s such a TV writer cliche, I still get ticked whenever anyone on TV goes to "fly-over country" and it’s an endless parade of jokes and complaints about boredom and milking cows and no cell service (even though they seemed to be making calls and sending texts with no problem, so what was that little dig about?).
Oooo, Kalinda, you’re such a badass that you’d kill someone if you had to spend two days at that lovely hotel in the middle of the beautiful forest. We met your "killer" husband; how’d that excitement work out for you? At least Alicia said she relished the peace and quiet.
Yawn. Try something new.
And, isn’t this show in Chicago? Where’s the snow?

They took on new partners and associates that didn't bring in enough revenue and the recession hit a lot of their clients who then cut back on legal services. I like that a law drama is actually addressing the financial part of running a big law firm. It's not all shiny offices and designer suits. On this show, the attorneys aren't so high-minded that they only want to win for justice! and freedom! but just as often because they badly need a cut of the settlement.
