Personally, I think Elin is just one in a long line of gold diggers, who happened to keep her trap shut, only after she barked for more money in the divorce settlement.
With that said, I saw the house. It was gorgeous, and TMZ said it was brand spanking new and is in a private community, but they can be wrong. However, I kind of remember hearing Elin buying this brand spanking new home, but my memory is fuzzy. Looking at the exterior shots that home does not look as if it was built in the early thirties.
Either way, it's her money she earned from Tiger, but it will be gone, if she continues to plump down 12 million on a house and let's say another 4 million to rebuild. In my estimation, that's 16 million dollars. Let's not forget she bought and built a home or two in her homeland, and she has to furnish these places, pay taxes, and maintain them.
I figure if she keeps this spending up, she won't have much left.

Won't he still be paying her child and possibly spousal support? I know he paid her that lump sum but I didn't think he was off the hook after that.
I'm not seeing how/why she was a gold digger. She was his wife and she is the mother of his 2 kids. He cheated on her repeatedly and exposed her to STD's and public humiliation. Heck some of the women he screwed were definitely gold diggers so it struck me as hilarious in some of the stories where they complained about how cheap he was. I seem to recall him throwing several milliom dollars at Rachel Utichel for her silence which i think she ultimately had to pay back.
I don't see any reason why Elin doesn't deserve the money she got. Tiger was the bad guy in this situation, not her. She got what she was entitled to and kicked his cheating ass to the curb.

Duh, all women who marry much richer athletes are gold diggers who just look the other way until the guy gets stupid with his cheating. Then she can walk off with a settlement and the public sympathy without her true greedy nature being called out.  |

Lots are extremely opportunistic and do, yes. Some of them, however, actually are in love with each other. |

The house that Tiger lives in now that caused a bit of controversy for looking like something from a box from IKEA is ultra modern and all white. It was designed by Elin and probably the 1930s style house she had now didn't suit her taste. As for Tiger, in our house we are looking forward to seeing if he can win another major.

She is living in a beautiful brand spanking new rental right now. The house on the beach that was torn down was from the 1930s. The house in Sweden also needed extensive renovations. I agree that she will run through the money quick if she continues to buy expensive houses and renovate them so hopefully she will stop with 2. |

I can see what you mean, yes to the rest of us over 100 million is a lot of money but damned if it can't be pissed away all the same.

If it wasn't real estate, I'd be more likely to see it as a spending-spree but more than likely she will be able to sell at a profit. And, I tend to doubt that she's dipping into her divorce settlement money very often. I think if she was the type to spend wildly on a regular basis, we would have heard about it by now.
As for the golddigging, I've never seen that. They did have a prenup. She got far more because of Tiger's antics.

And also isn't Tiger paying her a monthly child/spousal support payment in addition to the lump sum she got? I don't know, she seems to keep a pretty low profile. I think she married him for love and got screwed. She can buy/bulldoze whatever she wants. And real estate is usually an investment.
