I completely respect her for this. She doesn't need a degree. She doesn't have to work. Getting a degree requires weathering a good deal of bureaucratic b*llshit and jumping through of hoops--it's a grind at times. The fact that she was willing to put up with it for a degree that she doesn't actually need speaks volumes for her. Furthermore, she did it at a school that's not a fancypants Ivy League school or something else with huge bragging rights. Good for her.

Why am I not surprised that Elin earned a degree that will qualify her to do.... absolutely nothing. Perfect for a bored housewife who never has any intention earning a paycheck. Psychology is a hugely applicable discipline. I work in the delivery end of IT and I use the skills I learned every day and make a very good living doing so, even 18 years later (but it's good to know that even 18 years later people are still making lame cracks about the degree.) |

She comes from a very accomplished family, so I'm not surprised that she's not "done" with whatever she's going to accomplish in her own life. She's got small children, and even in the best of times she was married to a guy who probably wasn't home very much (later we found out just how much!). And she began as a nanny, so maybe she just really loves being the mom for right now. It's interesting that she's really no different than other moms who want to go back to school. Of course she's got a zillion dollars, but she also went through one holy hell of a humiliating personal mess. I have always admired the fact that she spoke ONE time about it all, and now she's just a gal going on with her life.
I wonder how Tiger is doing with Lindsey? It's hard to imagine that someone who was so compulsively sleeping around could just suddenly reform and stick with one gal, but who knows. I would imagine that if he was still sleeping around that those gals would be running to talk about it. I think Elin was probably nothing more than the trophy wife. That's a shame, because she seems like a really cool gal.

Didn't she try to go upside his head once she found out about his creeping (or was that a rumor)? Blind Gossip had this barely blind item about Tiger today. It sounded like with Lindsay Vonn he was up to his old tricks. |
