S2 trailer and behind the scenes video. I still miss Andy Whitfield, but the second season is looking awesome in every other way (well, except for Gannicus returning since I found him annoyingly, smugly perfect, but I knew that was inevitable and accepted it after the last prequel episode aired). I can't wait to see what happens to Lucretia and Ilithyia, their relationship was so screwed up and fascinating. Edit: wow, the thread sees no action in months and then Sunbaby and I post the same minute!

Great minds and all, KarenK Ilithyia is definitely one of my favourite characters - I wonder what mayhem she'll cause this season. Lucretia looks so broken. Maybe Glaber and Ilithyia will take her in, to assuage their own feelings of guilt after what happened at the ludus? Whatever the case is, I will be there January 27. I can't believe it's been almost a year since Gods of the Arena ended

Lucretia looks so awesomely batshit crazy with her Crazy Hair when she emerges behind Glaber and Illithyia in the preview. I like to think that she's been surviving by eating rats and drinking expired wine. New Spartacus could do with some more muscle (Andy Whitfield was seriously RIPPED) but otherwise looks promising. Bring on the blood and boobs!

Ilithyia is definitely one of my favourite characters - I wonder what mayhem she'll cause this season. I have potentially spoilery speculation about that, based on the newest trailer. In the balcony shot she looks kinda pregnant to me, so the Spartacus/Ilithyia sex might end up being used for more drama than I'd expected. She won't be happy that Lucretia knows her Spartacus sex/massacre secrets, that's for sure. This is less spoilery since it has been in the early S2 episode summaries and the text in a Lucretia promo pic, but just in case, there's some mentions of the favour of the gods and Glaber believing in Lucretia's prophecies. So I'm guessing she portrays her survival as a miracle and wins his support by saying she's fated to help him defeat Spartacus. I can't believe it's been almost two years since Ilithyia had those doors sealed! I wonder how the show will manage to surprise us in S2, despite the speculation there were still plenty of things I didn't see coming in S1 or the prequel. Edit: about crazy Lucretia, I saw it pointed out on a Sparty site that's she's wearing one of her dead husband's S1 outfits! Great detail.

KarenK, Ilithyia is most definitely pregnant. It has to be Spartacus' child. I can only imagine what that development is going to do to Lucretia, who was already evil and crazy before the massacre.

Ok, I'm clearly shallow because any child of Spartacus and Ilithyia would be gorgeous. Spartacus is hot! Don't be ashamed, Ilithyia. KarenK, thanks for the information about Lucretia and Glaber. That would explain why she looks cleaned up in some of the preview scenes. By the way, does anyone want to wager a guess on what bloody organ (I'm assuming?) Lucretia is holding in her hand toward the end of the 11-minute clip? It looks like she gave someone an appendectomy.

It looks like she gave someone an appendectomy. Since this is Spartacus it could well be a human organ, but I'm no anatomy/hospital show expert so I can't really guess what kind of organ. My first thought was that it was an animal sacrifice; they haven't really dealt with Roman religion yet, apart from all the Jupiter-themed swearing and Lucretia's fertility ritual.

I watched the other video with the little interviews and I have to say, everyone looks pretty good in clothes too.

I'm surprised they already released a spoilery still like this from episode 10. Yikes! I wouldn't want Lucretia to be my midwife.
