Yeah, I agree not all parents on assistance are lazy without a job. I've met my fair share that are hardworking but unfortunately, due to a lack of education and piss poor minimum wage, simply cannot make enough to support their families. But, as highondegrassi stated, these people are not proud of this. They see nothing badass about it. They are encouraging their children not to repeat their mistakes and want their kids to do better.

Of course, it's really hard to know what was Kesha's (I refuse to pull out the $) situation. I know I've read her mother moved the family to Nashville, TN where she worked as an aspiring songwriter and singer. Now, I've never heard of the great record from Pebe so clearly the singing career didn't pan out. But her mom did apparently land a publishing deal which can bring in good money if you are successful. But who knows how successful her mother was.

Michael K over at DListed is spelling her name Ke€ha. Um, the € should be a cent sign. Weird, I don't have one on my keyboard. Is that normal? Am I nuts for not noticing that?

Anyway, I love it and wish I had the symbol on my keyboard, because I would totally use it.

I kind of thought the stupid spoiled whore thing was played out, honestly. That's what surprises me about Ke¢ha's success.

I didn't really know too much about her until they interviewed her on NPR. She also judged a rap written by a couple of economists. She really toned down the SSW act for NPR, I have to say. None of this "I'm a total slut and my mom was a foodstamp usin' badass" stuff. I think she'll say whatever it takes to get attention, whether she's talking to a bunch of bookish NPR nerds or a tabloid.

So much for Kesha's stories about being 'badass.' She was a total dork who looked just like the girl from The Middle.

Seeing how she had to overcome her doofiness to make it in showbiz almost makes me like her - almost.

I actually think she sounds better there than on her recorded songs. The tone of her voice sounded much better at 13. Maybe she was "pitchy" at times (I'm not sure) but the actual tone is not bad. She also seemed to know how to interpret a song without sounding obnoxious like she usually does.

She was a really tall 13 year old. How tall is she now?

After dinner, the 32-year-old musician tweeted, “Dear Ke$ha, you have won me over with your tricks and charms and I must tell you I really like your song ["TiK ToK"]. Though I must add I tried brushing with a bottle of Jack and I chipped a tooth on the glass. Where might I remit an invoice?”
