[/Elaine Benes] When Mariah is perpetrating the fraud by posting photoshopped pix of herself from 1997, as if she took them this morning? I can't. She does? LOL! Oh man, keep on being awesome, Mariah Carey. Instagram is sort of the new Twitter. Some celebs use it purely for promo purposes. Some use it for sharing bits of their life. Lea Michele uses hers to plug her album. Troian Bellesario uses it to share cool travel pics and do some behind-the-scenes shots from her show. Rihanna gets stoned and shares half naked pics while on a ski vacation, lol. It's kind of a grey area where some celebs obviously have more control over their accounts than others, and many use it to share personal stuff on a level they are comfortable with. I could see them being okay with sharing more personal stuff, because they might feel more in control of what they are sharing (not saying that can't backfire -- it sure did with Rihanna at one point). Anyway, sharing bits of life on Instagram doesn't really strike me as famewhore'ish per se. I guess it depends on the account. Isn't Beyonce's pics mostly fashion shots? I had her on my account awhile ago, and it was mostly just what she was wearing and travel shots. It was sort of boring. But I get why you would add her if you were a big fan. |
