I don't know if it has nothing to do with racism. Seems like the Grammys like artistry but mostly when it's a white artist.
But the Grammys are about a different audience. Look, my mom watched the Grammys last night. She hated Beyonce's version of "Precious Lord" (and BTW, so did I...yikes girl, that song went on forever!) and now she's discovered Sam Smith. Now, my mom's taste are more Wonder Bread if you get my drift, but I'm glad she has a new singer to like.

Why? What could possibly happen? I would imagine, if politely told that it's inappropriate, she'd just stand there bobbing her head and fake-smiling her way through the rejection. FFS, the way John Legend puts it you'd think those Illuminati conspiracy theories are real and there are dire consequences to saying no to her. ETA: I watched an interview with Sia and she mentioned Beyonce's song Pretty Hurts (which she wrote) at 3:11. When Beyonce enters the game, Beyonce always wins. Sort of. Diamonds was a huge hit!

Why? What could possibly happen? Clearly, you haven't seen The Beygency.

While it would have been a nice gesture to include Ledisi in some way, she was never invited by NARAS to perform that song or at all. If Beyonce hadn't done it, we wouldn't have heard it. I don't think she did it because she hates other black female singers and is actively out there destroying their careers (which is the nicest general consensus on LSA). Or she should be taken out back and shot over it. What Kanye did was rude as fuck. It was wrong when he did it to Taylor and it's wrong here. So what she didn't win AOTY? Actually, I think Beyonce and Pharrell split the vote (he beat her for Urban Contemporary). She might not have even been in second place in votes. Maybe dead last. And his little rant afterwards. He actually brought up the Flawless video as proof as to why she should have won. This is not the VMA's, fool. I wish she had performed something from her album that we haven't heard yet, like Jealous. I would have been okay with Pretty Hurts, too. And I'm going to need some stans to calm down over this. It's not the end of the world and there was no backroom conspiracy. You would think she went home empty handed. Beyonce won three awards last night.

Kanye needs to stop. It was disrespectful when he did it to Taylor, it's disrespectful now and has absolutely nothing to do with racism. As this guy on Twitter said, Beck plays 12 instruments on his album, while it takes 4 songwriters to "write" one Bey song. The guy also said Beck was releasing albums when Kanye was still producing Mase songs. For Drunk in Love she needs 8. One of them who created the we be all night part was left out and threatened if he released his song where she got that part from. She is lame. I don't see how anyone can believe she writes anything when she sounds slow when she speaks tbh. I don't get how she has had this kind of power where no one can say no to her. Those punk bitches Common and John Legend should be smacked for giving into that shit.

If she wanted to sing at the Grammys she could have, she was nominated from her own album. I feel like her insistence to be a part of this song was unnecessary. I'm glad I turned away once she started singing, there is something about the way she sings that completely turns me off.

I'm glad I turned away once she started singing, there is something about the way she sings that completely turns me off. Her voice when she sings ballads is like nails on a chalkboard. I think it's because I can hear more of her weird, slow as f*ck Texas drawl.

My father is a 65 year old mennonite and has discovered Sam Smith and loves him. Reminds him of Elvis.

So that's twice now that Kanye has stormed the stage to be Beyonce's Knight in Shining Armor and defend her honor?
If I was Kim I'd be pissed.
