What is she promoting? Her Grammy wins? Jeez, go on vacation already.

Once again, she feigns shock, awe and amazement, while showing off. She is so transparent. And, the notion that she has more Grammys than Barbara Streisand is just unbelievable. I am not surprised that her ego is big. I can't say that mine would not be also.

I caught the end of Dream Girls the other night and was shocked by how much better Beyonce looks with dark hair as opposed to the blondey thing she has going on now. I'd forgotten just how stunning she can be, as lately I've found her to look rather average. She really needs to ditch that golden colour and go dark, a 100% improvement IMO.

Every time I see her without make up in normal clothes I think how gorgeous she is and how expressive and pretty her face is. Then I see her all dressed up and she just looks like Dolly Parton. And not in a good way- a 45 year old Dolly Parton with blank blank eyes.

I give Bey props for handling herself with dignity in public. I sincerely doubt we will ever see a panty-less crotch shot of Bey, or see her falling down shit faced drunk coming out of a club, or obviously intoxicated while being interviewed. She seems to have self respect, which is refreshing to me.
I'm sure some will disagree, but I think she is building a legacy to be proud of. She surely has nothing to be ashamed of.

I agree that Beyonce is one star who has nothing to be ashamed of. She conducts herself very well in public, is seemingly hard working, confident and from where I sit, talented. Many may not like her voice, or the way she seems to reach for things they don't believe she is capable of earning. But no one can fault her for not working for what she has, or for abusing her gifts, or appearing unappreciative, or flaunting her personal life for attention etc.

I hope she's not as the Oscars this year. She's nearly as ubiquitous as Nicole Kidman, and at least she has an Oscar!

A little rant re Beyonce... As some recent concert, Jay-Z did his ripoff of Alphaville's Forever young, and instead of Mr. Hudson, he brought out Mocha Barbie to sing the refrain. While parts of it were okay...even good...and yes, she's on key and has good rythym and is technically proficient...she's got two big problems as a performer. Number one, she's too focused on the ornamentals of her signing, the grace notes and flourishes, etc, to bring out the true soul in any song. If she tried something a little less flashy, with sustained, clear, unadorned notes, it would be much more beautiful. Secondly, she doesn't, in this case, seem to be paying too much attention to the actual meaning of the lyrics. When she gives her signature sunny smile at the end of the line, "are you going to drop the bomb or not?", I want to throw tomatoes at the stage. This line captures an entire generation's existential unease...and she's smiling! And not an appropriately wistful, philosophical smile, but the same happy smile she uses to sell L'Oreal products. Someone needs to give Mrs. J-Z a clue, soon. And on a related note: just how many beats and hooks from the beloved songs of my teen years will the creatively barren contemporary hip-hop music machine amputate and transplant into soulless "new" pop hits?
