Yep, it's "confirmed" breaking news.
I was just talking with my sister about him as well as Roy Horn night before last. I was saying he'd never sing again, and now he definitely won't.
So now I'm gonna go play all my Luther albums for the rest of the weekend.
**Searching, searching for so long. Searching.**

I'm actually truly shocked. I thought he was getting better. Very sad.

I'm shocked too. I kept thinking he was going to recover and be better than before. I'll was just listening to his last CD. The last great R&B singer. I'll miss him.

This is sad, he was still young. RIP Luther, your voice made me happy.

I'm so sad over this, I really am. I still remember those awful rumors about him having AIDS because of the weight loss. I just listened to "Dance With My Father," two days ago. "Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream," has been in my head for the past two days.

Oh, man. My mom and I were just talking about whether or not he'd make a big professional comeback. We just assumed he'd make a full recovery. RIP Luther.

I grew up listening to him, you couldn't have a house party without one of his songs as a slow jam...I will miss him, this is a sad day for me.
Every male R&B singer today tries to copy him in some way, they are all crap. There will only be one Luther. RIP.

There were four children, he was the last to go. The others died of similar ailments, diabetes mainly the cause all so young. His father died at 50 yrs old of complications of Diabetes. So sad, RIP Mr. Vandross. Truly one of the greatest, I'll never forget him. Love you Luther.

I too thought that he was getting better, so I was shocked when my brother told me today that Luther Vandross had passed! I am a Vandross fan and will miss his vocal stylings! Rest In Peace Luther.

Some of the guys over at DataLounge are claiming that he was a terror to work for and an unpleasant guy, but until I hear something to back that up, I'll continue to assume he was a sweetheart. At any rate, his music makes me happy. RIP, Mr. Vandross.
