Hubs and I went to see Roadrunner last night. I recommend it, particularly for fans of Bourdain, but it's not a perfect film. It's a little chaotic, which I think was done on purpose because the film is about how Tony was a chaotic person, but it does make the film seem a little directionless. The first half of it feels very disjointed, it's just clips of Tony giving speeches and traveling and occasionally hanging out with his family. The film doesn't even begin to discuss his addictive personality or his depression until the last half an hour, and since that's the crux of what the film is building up to (why did he commit suicide) I feel like it should have been included earlier.
He was definitely a very troubled person though. And while I don't think Asia Argento is a good person and I do think their relationship was toxic and probably pushed him over the edge, the film made a point to not blame her for his death. It's strongly implied that Tony was on this path because of who he was and because of his mental health issues, and if it hadn't been her, it would have been someone else. He was obsessed with her, but he had been obsessed with other things, and other people, before.
The deepfake of him reading an e-mail was totally unnecessary. It's about 3 seconds in the whole film, it doesn't add anything, and all it did was create bad feelings and accusations about how the documentary isn't true.

Old.
Ooofff...another swing and miss by M. Night. The premise had promise, but the execution was awful. I think he's so caught up in his 'big twists' that he worked backwards from that point and it just didn't work. Also, a couple of things that happened were really distasteful to me.

The whole thing with Alex Wolff and Eliza Scanlen was incredbily distasteful. Also the dialogue was absolutely awful, and most of the actors were not good enough to overcome it.

The whole thing with Alex Wolff and Eliza Scanlen was incredbily distasteful. Yes. It's still really bothering me because, mentally, they were still 6 and 4.

That seems to be the M. Night M.O. An interesting idea, a few trailer-worthy scenes, and then a disjointed, poorly written mess to fill out the rest of the run time.

I still can't make my mind up if I want to see Bohemian Rhapsody because I'm too emotionally attached to Original Live Aid so I'm sure I'll end up watching Rocketman well before BP, mostly cos we still have Elton with us so yeah that, and I loved Taron Egerton in Eddie the Eagle and I never warmed to Rami Malik in any trailers/clips I saw... Quoting myself because I finally after much hesitation watched Bohemian Rhapsody on Netflix I even hesitated at the 2hr14 mins length right before, but it flew by and at the end I want a bit more. I adored Freddie and Queens Live Aid performance well everything about Live Aid imprinted on 13 year old me at the tome. Rami who I didn’t warm to at all in trailers won he me over, the supporting cast too were great too especially who played Brian May. One of the Peter Beatles from Eastenders as Roger Taylor kinda took me out a bit at times but still very good and John Deacon actor very good, loved the low key bass intro as Another One Bites the Dust emerged. As I checked the cast list I took a double take on who played Paul Prenter it was only Allen Leech Downton Abbeys Tom Branson! I had no idea! The scene of Freddie’s diagnosis and walk away from the doctor was just devastating The watching and reaction scenes throughout “Live Aid” were emotional and were cleverly done. Overall I thought I would have more cynical about and be left overall unimpressed but nope I enjoyed it more than I expected. Still prefer Rocketman to it tho. It the other way around with artists portrayed I like Queen music a little bit more than Elton’s.

I watched Luca. It was alright. I guess I was expecting something different.

I really liked Free Guy, it was surprisingly uplifting, and had some little surprises which I loved. Trying to be non-spoilery here.
I'm not a gamer and was still into it.
