The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is an absolute delight. Nic Cage and Pedro Pascal are hilarious together.

I saw Everything Everywhere All at Once last night and really enjoyed it. I see movies in the theater so seldomly (even pre-Covid) that I have to really want to see something and I read all the reviews about it and am inevitably disappointed because my expectations were so high. It helped that this movie was so bonkers that I couldn't really anticipate what it would be like. It also helps that the core story is about a mother and daughter struggling to connect. So there is this poignant, very relatable premise at the center around which they weave one of the most bonkers, absurd stories I have ever watched. I keep thinking about it today and it makes me laugh. I will probably watch it again when it hits streaming because there was sooo much going on that I'm sure I missed a lot. It just seemed really original to me. It was a really fantastic role for Michelle Yeoh. But everyone was good in it. Ke Huy Quan (from the Goonies!), the actress who played the daughter, the actor who played the granddad--all so good. Jamie Lee Curtis was great! Everyone was good in it. I recommend.

"Dr Strange Multiverse of Madness" Fell kind of flat for me. All the jokes, the cameos and the big moments were just meh. Just kind of pissy they took Wanda down that road when Dr Strange is one who is always fucking things up. Best part about the movie was America Chavez. The character and the actress were delightful. She was wasted on a dreary film.

I went to see The Duke with Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirrin. It was good. Nothing earth shattering, just a solid good time at the theater. The fact that it actually occurred really helped send it home. The story is an old down on his luck cabbie steals Goya's the Duke of Wellington painting from the National Gallery in London. He already has about 40 other problems in his life before the crime. I have to admit I predicted one part of the ending but not the second.

I watched Senior Year on Netflix and would advise anyone to avoid it all cost. The only thing I liked about it was the 2000s music nostalgia.

Top Gun: Maverick. Yeah...it's fantastic. Thoughts and prayers to the Cruise haters, but he knocked this one out of the park (he's very good in it).

Oh, I am so happy to hear that! Really looking forward to seeing it, although slightly disappointed to get the impression (from reviews) that Jay Ellis’ role is very small, I love him.
