So I'm guessing all of The Weinstein Company's movies just took a big hit in their Oscar chances... One can only hope. I'm too mad at half of Hollywood to see objectively, and since the voting members are now more diverse and female than ever...

Completely off topic but... I wonder with if the show will be toned down this year With all the harassment and sexual predator stories coming out of Hollywood?

I’ve been wondering that too, with all the accusations and evidence piling up I don’t know how many people will be left who don’t have the perv or perv enabler stink on them. Whoever hosts it is going to have an even tougher job than usual.

Jimmy Kimmel returns as host. Not envying him. But what I think they’ll do is have someone else address it (like Tom Cruise did at the beginning of the 1st post-9/11 ceremony) in a serious manner and then go on with the show. Hopefully without any tasteless jokes about the matter.

I'm surprised that The Big Sick got completely shut out, I had thought it'd be a lock for the Best Screenplay category at the very least.

Battle of the Sexes is filed under Comedy or Musical? That seems odd.

Lady Bird is pretty much the most acclaimed movie of the year. It's bullshit that Greta Gerwig didn't get a Best Director nomination.

Call Me By Your Name is getting a lot of praise, but it isn't it about a 30-something man having a romance with a 17-year-old? How is that considered a love story? If teenage girls, even when consenting, can't have legit relationships with older men, how can teenage boys? Or am I wrong about the plot?
