Yeah, I watched this expecting to like it and hated it. The characters and dialogue were all completely phony - especially Rachel McAdams and her materialistic family, who were like parodies of Woody Allen characters from the 80s.
And Woody Allen's romanticized version of Paris does not exist except in his head. That pristine, quiet, glowingly lit street corner where Owen Wilson waits for the carriage at midnight is in real life full of bars and people and noise and the street is so dirty when you get home you have to wash your shoes in the sink. I love the real Paris, dirty streets and all, and it IS a romantic place, but I hate how it is so pretentiously misrepresented.

I saw the whole "romanticized version of Paris does not exist except in his head" thing as part of the point; TS Eliot wasn't hanging out with them, after all! But I agree with the phoniness of the contemporary characters, and their unlikeablility... although again, that was what seemed like the point.
Woody Allen films really end up being a "love it or hate it" thing, too. I actually expected to hate his movies when I first started seeing a few, and felt guilty that I loved the ones I saw, b/c he's such an odious human being.

The Hangover. I know of only one other person (the girl I saw it with) who didn't think it was hilarious, but I just don't get it.

I had to hand in my Gay Card for getting nothing out of "Moulin Rouge" but a migraine.

Add me to The Princess Bride list. It was fine, just not memorable for me. I must have seen it too late in life (in my 20s in the 1990s or something).

Yeah, I liked "The Hangover" fine, but I liked it better when it was "Dude, Where's My Car?".

An Affair to Remember. I just can't get on the Cary Grant love train not to mention Aniston and Jolie have more chemistry than he did with Kerr.

The African Queen. This hurts me, as I am a huge Bogart fan. It's my mother's favorite film and the only thing I've ever been able to get out of it is a sense of how much Bogart had aged by that point [/shallow].

you ain't the only one. I thought both he and Hepburn looked like shit. This film would have looked more palatable in black and white methinks. Kind of like what they did for Some Like it Hot - Black and white so the guys don't look ridiculous.
