On the Batman movies - it's funny, I feel almost exactly the reverse. I really liked The Dark Knight (and although Ledger was great, it's Aaron Eckhart who really steals the show for me every time) but thought Batman Begins was kind of a trudge. The best parts were pretty, pretty Cillian Murphy. That's how I feel too, only I'd add Liam Neeson as a good part of Batman Begins. It was just so freakin' boring and Katie Holmes almost completely wrecked it for me. I'm not terribly fond of origin stories in the first place. There's usually way too many inside jokes that only the supergeek comic book fans get. And don't forget the "microwave weapon" that only boiled water in pipes! Liam Neeson and The Bale were standing on the train with the stupid microwave and they survived it, despite humans being made up of about 60% water. (Also water in rivers are not susceptible either). Plus, no one gets burned by the steam, they just go psycho from the halucinogenic plant. WTF? That was a bad movie, despite my really wanting to like it.

Okay, I remembered another one: The Third Man. I desperately wanted to love it because Roger Ebert once wrote it up as one of his all time favorites, but I found this supposedly brilliant noir to be...dull (and painfully so.) Very disappointing.

Ugh, my ex-boyfriend thought Citizen Kane was a masterpiece and watched it over and over and over, and I hated it.

I wanted to like Precious but I just couldn't. In fact, we had to turn it off after 30 minutes. Why you ask? It was a pretty abusive movie and Monique's character had some cats, and I was worried something was going to happen to them.

I'll jump on the Batman train and say Batman Begins was so boring I almost fell asleep. I LOVE Batman but that movie was a big zzzzz. I don't need to see a frickin' hour of Bruce Wayne training. Ra's Al Ghul is just not that interesting of a bad guy. The character of Rachel Dawes is a Mary Sue. Scarecrow is awesome but they didn't give him enough screentime to save the movie. I know everyone says it redefined Batman and brought him into a new era but...no. No, it did not-not to me. To me it was just BLAH.

She didn't hurt the cats. She treated them better than her daughter.

Fried Green Tomatoes. Mostly because I think it's a bad, almost cheesy adaptation of a super excellent novel, and because I hate Mary-Louise Parker.

As far as I am concerned Anchorman owns this thread. When I was watching Mtv cribs, this football player mentioned he has this movie on loop in his house. I reasoned that this movie must be friggin hilarious, if he is going to watch it over and over again. I really liked Blades of Glory, so I really don't understand what was so funny about this movie. Just checked imdb.com, apparently they are going to make Anchorman 2, lord have mercy. Other honorable mentions, the Bourne movies, the Matrix movies, the Notebook. I completely agree with you on Anchorman. I'll even throw in Old School. It had some funny moments but that's it.

I'm bringing this thread back.
I should have loved Midnight in Paris but I didn't like it. I was 'meh' about it after I watched it, but now I kind of hate it because everyone in the world who thinks they have a little bit of culture, think Paris is magical, and can identify one character in the movie thinks it's like the best movie ever. This also happens to be the type of person who couldn't name another Woody Allen movie if they tried. Not that I'm an expert but it really adds to my annoyance for it.
I usually dislike mainstream comedies because they're not funny, but I really wanted to like Bridesmaids. I actually did laugh out loud a few times. But the combination of Kirsten Wiig's contorted faces, the gross out humor, and the extremely depressing elements (no job, no boyfriend, no apartment!) is just...NO. It just wasn't as 'feel good' as I wanted it to be. I don't need a depressing dose of reality in a light comedy!
Also, I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be excited about The Hunger Games but I have no interest. It just seems like a strange storyline for a young adult book series. I think I have a pretty good idea of the types of movies and TV shows I like, so I think I'll sit this one out even if every.one.in.the.world keeps saying it's great.
