I hated American Pie. I don't think I laughed once. I thought it was an appalling movie. Not because of the stupid pie, but how Shannon Elizabeth's character is broadcast on the internet masturbating or something? I was mad for like a whole day after enduring it. Crappy, unfunny, stupid movie. Very Bad Things. Again, not funny. Everyone I know loves this movie. I don't. I hated it! *deep breath* This will win me no friends, seeing as all my fellow Gen Xers love it: Pulp Freaking Fiction. Oh yeah, I "got" it; I just didn't want it. The stupid bit about the cheeseburgers, the overdose. God I hated this movie. The only decent thing about it was Urge Overkill's cover of Neil Diamond. I know this is the defining 90s movie (the decade I came of age) but I don't see the greatness. I guess Tarantino does not float my boat. I did like Reservoir Dogs, though. But Pulp Fiction can go kick rocks. I don't know if I "got" Pulp Fiction (I was 19ish when I saw it, I'll have to check), but I remember not really caring about the movie so much. I did like that surf music was back, as I was a pretentious college radio nerdette, but then it got to be too much. I don't like much of anything else Tarantino did other than Grindhouse. Strangely, I love listening to NPR-type interviews with him because he's so passionate about his vision, but I just don't care to see his films. I got bored during Reservoir Dogs, and haven't bothered to see Kill Bill or Inglorious Basterds. ETA: I haven't seen Very Bad Things, and American Pie was forgettable--I don't even remember the part about Shannon Elizabeth's character. I prefer Can't Hardly Wait.

narm, I feel the exact same way about both American Pie and Pulp Fiction. It was disgusting what Jason Biggs' character did to Shannon Elizabeth's character. Not funny in the slightest.

I think half the reason I like John Cho so much is because he is literally the only part of American Pie that made me laugh.

Oh man, I went with a ton of friends to Very Bad Things because we got free passes to see it before it came out. Every single one of us hated it with a passion. We all wanted to walk out. For some reason we stayed. I would actually rank that as one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
I also despised American Pie. I didn't crack a smile once. Such a dumb movie.
I like Pulp Fiction alright, but I have friends who hate that movie too, and I get why people would.

Kill Bill - both of them. Wanted to like them, just couldn't.

As a Mike Meyers fan, it kills me to post this, but Austin Powers did nothing for me. Painfully overdone and just. not. funny. After the first one, I couldn't suffer through the others.

Yeah, I agree. I sort of enjoyed the first one because it actually took some moments to be surprisingly human. But the two that followed were just the re-heated crude bits minus any heart.

Sort of off-topic, but this:
Is making me want to get Very Bad Things and several other Most Hated by Greecies movies in an attempt at relative deprivation (self-esteem boost via exposure to badness) next week. Other titles would include Crash ('04), Borat and I Know Who Killed Me. Maybe Drag Me to Hell. I can almost feel my cringe arriving.

I remember nothing from "American Pie" (I saw it when it first came out and promptly forgot all about it), but I might watch it again just for John Cho. He's such a cutie. I haaaated "Crash." With a passion. I shut it off 3/4 of the way through because I didn't want to waste any more time on it. Blech.
