Citrus, I usually hate when people tell me I didn't watch something "right" but The Princess Bride works much better as a film for adults. Despite Fred Savage's presence, it's not really a kids' film.

Despite Fred Savage's presence, it's not really a kids' film. Agreed. I saw it for the first time in college, and I loved it. I was a wussy kid and if I'd seen it when I was a kid I would've been freaked out and hated it. I've never really thought of it as a kids movie, mainly because I can vaguely remember Comedy Central showing it and they certainly don't air kids movies.

I felt the same way, they weren't bad movies but I thought they were overrated. On that note, I wanted to like Superbad. Wanted to, because at the time, I liked Michael Cera. Now, not so much.

Yeah, Chicago. Of course, in keeping in line with this thread, I hate musicals. (Conversely, I LOVED Moulin Rouge. It really is a love it or hate it flick.) I also hated Breakfast at Tiffany's and, as a result, never really thought Audrey Hepburn was all that special until I saw her in A Nun's Story. Speaking of which, Dwan, I am in love with your blog and check for updates religiously! Are you insanely busy, or can we expect some more Blathers anytime soon? Thank you SO much, misskitka! But right now, between thesis, exams, and novel, the website is left hangin'. Dunno if/when I'll pick it back up again.

As far as I am concerned Anchorman owns this thread. When I was watching Mtv cribs, this football player mentioned he has this movie on loop in his house. I reasoned that this movie must be friggin hilarious, if he is going to watch it over and over again. I really liked Blades of Glory, so I really don't understand what was so funny about this movie. Just checked imdb.com, apparently they are going to make Anchorman 2, lord have mercy.
Other honorable mentions, the Bourne movies, the Matrix movies, the Notebook.

2001. Man, was I bored.
The Graduate. My mum, who is a huge Dustin Hoffman fan (as well as a huge Simon & Garfunkel fan), raved about it and said how hilarious it was. When I watched it, I thought it painfully unfunny, and I hated all the characters. I always found myself secretly hoping that there was a secret deleted scene cut out at the end in which Benjamin and Elaine looked at each other in horror on the bus and said "WHAT HAVE I DONE?".

Superbad traumatized me! That was not a funny movie what with the almost getting the crap kicked out of them and the period blood, etc. Despite Matt Damon looking fine, the Bourne movies had nothing to offer. Even though The Notebook has been recommended to me many times, I can tell I'd just end up posting in this thread after watching it.

My father, God rest his soul, loved that movie. Me? I was also bored to tears and I was in kindergarten when it came out.
Normally, I love Disney movies, but I didn't get Bedknobs and Broomsticks. To me it seemed like a ripoff of Mary Poppins. Also, Pete's Dragon was kind of cheesy as well.

Like that's not part of its charm?! I lurve that movie, I can't help myself. Also, Sugarbear and I recite whole chunks of it, and are known to break into "A dragon, a dragon, I SWEAR I saw a dragon!" at opportune times.

Dwanollah, I don't mind cheese (you should see my DVD collection), but this movie was oozing mozzarella, gouda, cheddar, and brie ("He has the head of a camel.....").
Also, it was kind of embarrassing the way Disney was trying to market Helen "I am Woman" Reddy as the new Julie Andrews when she had the charisma of wilted lettuce.
