Bland? That's the word that always comes to mind when I think of him. An appropriate term given his character's name in Pretty in Pink. "Blane? That's a major appliance, not a name!"[/b] One of my most favorite movie lines ever, and I'm not really fond of that movie.

Ok, I LOVED Andrew McCarthy (and still find him attractive). He seemed like he may be a sensitive guy as opposed to the Alpha males around him. I have an almost Pavloivian response to preppy pale guys with brown hair and blue eyes due to him. I wasn't into him when he was younger, but latter day McCarthy? Rowr! So hot. He was the best thing about that Brooke Shields/ Lindsay Price show.

Watching "St. Elmo's Fire" right now. I forgot how bad this movie is. The Rob Lowe sax scenes were hi-larious though.

I hated that movie, but I confess to coveting Demi Moore's look when I first saw it - crinkly hair and all.

This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly has a fun photo shoot and interview reuniting the cast of one of my favorite 80s movies, Mystic Pizza. The film is 25 years old this year! I don't know why, but I absolutely love that movie. I think it captures female friendships and dreams of leaving a small town so nicely.
Annabeth Gish really was the baby of the cast; she was only 16 when it was filmed.

Scroll down for the photo of the Mystic Pizza cast. The men of the film are inside the magazine. There's also a photo of the three women, with Julia covering the faces of the other two with her hands and laughing, which I assume is suppose to be cute, but knowing Julia, is obnoxious. I also had a non-sexual crush on Annabeth Gish. She was so adorable in this and Desert Bloom.

William Zabka, the villain of many an 80's movie, Instagrammed himself in a famous costume from one of his movies The Karate Kid.

Theaters around the country are showing The Breakfast Club in honor of its 30th anniversary. No word on whether Barry Manilow knows that Principal Vernon raids his wardrobe yet.
