I am liking Judd Nelson's sense of humor about his career of late. He seems to have removed the "serious artist" stick from his ass.

Oh, Bender could get it. Then, now, ALWAYS. I think the Bender role really set somewhat of a tone or theme romantically for me, even moreso than our generationally-beloved Jake Ryan (no slouch, either).
I realize this speaks volumes about my development; none of it good. Oh well. Bender FOREVER!

Bender FOREVER! ::does the Judd Nelson fist pump not to be confused with the Jersey Shore one because they're like totally different:: I told my friend I've obviously not progressed in 30 years because I still thought Bender was hot. And, when Paul Gleason asked the others if they thought he was funny, if they thought he was bitchin to come back in five years and see if they still thought so, I was like "It's been 30 years. Yeah, he's still funny. He's still bitchin'."

I freaking LOVE "Clue". I quote Madeline Khan's Mrs. White to this day: "Flames, flames...flames...on the sides of my face". Loved it in the original theatrical run too!
I'll break with the pack on The Breakfast Club as it's not on any of my favorite 80s movies lists. I found most of the characters to be assholes, and thus couldn't muster more than a "Anthony Michael Hall is kind of cute" coming out of seeing it. I wanted to slap Bender and his coke nose repeatedly. The tone of the movie reminded me of Catcher in the Rye which I hate with the fire of a thousand suns. So. Much. Whining. Just get on with it!

I love that that was a Madeline Kahn improv! I would have bought tickets for the privilege of watching her walk down a street. She was amazing. On Carol Burnett - "I may have slipped a little since Cat Women on Mars, but I never thought I'd sink so low as to cast a belligerent, no talent peabrain like you just because you bought a hundred tickets!"

"In our circles! In our circles! In our circles!" HEE!
OT- When I was in college I took an acting class as an elective and the teacher was always talking about her career in Hollywood and had a thing for breathing techniques before each performance. Close to the end of the semester she let slip that her "Hollywood Career" consisted of playing Nurse # 3 in 'Serpents of Satan' or something I've never been able to track down on IMDB. Afterwards, I was never able to look at this woman without thinking of Madeline Kahn's Carol Burnette character and was prone to giggles that I never could explain out loud.
Anyway- more on topic. I like Clue, but I never got to where I could love it. It's full of wonderful moments but it always feels like with that cast and that premise there was so much more that it COULD have been if that makes sense. But that said, it could have been the worst movie ever created and still been worth it just for "Flames! Flames! Flames on the sides of my face..."
