The Tin Drum owns this thread. It's a great film, but unexpectedly gruesome. In particular, the scene on the beach where the fisherman reels in a horse's head full of eels and starts to pull the eels out of the ears and mouth and eyesockets and then the guy goes home and makes his wife eat them. Ugh. When a little man-child giving a 16 year old girl oral sex is not the creepiest scene in your film, you need to pull back on the creepy, guy.

The whole of Blue Velvet. I find it almost unwatchable.

I remember watching Sleepaway Camp at a friend's house when I was in 6th grade. At the end we paused the tape and ran around the room hooting and screaming with laughter. Her parents thought we were crazy.

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", part one, is bad enough. Little did I know there was a sequel back in the 1980s. I tried watching it, and now I know why it's been mostly forgotten. All it is is scene after scene of this poor woman being tortured by Leatherface, his dad, his brother, and the corpse of his grandfather. I've sat through dozens of horror movies and I have never, ever been disturbed so badly I had to turn the movie off. Until I tried watching this wrteched piece of junk.
The other day "Lake Placid" was on t.v., and I have to say I was disturbed by Betty White's foul-mouthed character. I don't want to hear Betty White throwing around vulgar slang words for penis. It's gross and wrong.
Re: "Sleepaway Camp." There are two (yep, two) sequels, and they're even cheesier than the first part. I reccomend them highly.

No one has mentioned The Last House on the Left?
I saw this movie when I was ten. TEN! It was on at the drive in and I was supposed to be asleep and I wasn't. I don't remember a lot of it except there was tons of blood and I was very disturbed. That movie probably scarred me for life.
Currently there are two movies I turned off, packed up and took to back to the video store as quickly as I could. Final Destination and The Butterfly Effect. I am extremely easily disturbed and way too over sensitive and avoid like the plauge anything disturbing (morbid curiosity brings me to this thread..plus it's easier to take things in print), what pissed me off is my sister told me to watch those movies...knowing how I am. Yes I was hysterical...sad but true.

I think A Clockwork Orange traumatized me for life. I was way too young for it when I saw it years ago, so that may have something to do with it. There were, I think, two rape scenes, and both of them freaked me out. (Actually, the first one may have been a beating up scene.) The second one, where he's prancing around singing "Dancing in the Rain" and casually slicing open the woman's clothes with scissors... then proceeds to rape her in front of her husband... Oh, god, why am I forcing myself to remember this...
