As a child I was terrified of Chucky from Child's Play. The whole movie was distrubing and I have hated dolls ever since. This really isn't a disturbing movie moment but a disturbing movie poster moment. When I was a kid I saw this poster for crappy horror movie about monsters that came out of toilets. For about five years after I saw that poster in a movie rental shop I was terrified to flush the toilet because a monster would get me.

This movie messed me up. When I bought my tickets for it, I didn't even know I was about to see a horror film. For some reason, I mistook Audition for a sweet Japanese movie called Afterlife. Such a stupid, unfortunate mistake. My friend was able to detach and just view the movie as over the top. But I couldn't. I was so horrified by that dude-in-the-bag, living that tortured existence for months (years?). He set up shop in my imagination. What killed my will to live was that dude-in-the-bag still wanted that barf ... he still wanted to live ... Aaaaah! VH1 talked about Audition in one of its list shows about scariest movie moments evah. Seeing it discussed in a shiny pop-culture context has eased my trauma a bit. Thanks VH1! Also therapeutic: ranting about how disturbing I found this movie to anyone who'll listen.

Okay, should I be ashamed that I'm a fully mature adult, and yet Star Wars Episode III's General Grievous scared the crap out of me? I haven't been creeped out by a character in a movie this much since I was a little kid. I know he's supposed to be a bad guy and all, but I didn't expect to be so disturbed by him. He was just so...creepy-crawly. I can't explain it.

Speaking of Star Wars Episode III I'd also like to nominate a moment: Anakin losing his limbs and going up in flames then climbing his burned body to the top of the cliff with his mechanical hand

Can someone fill me in on Audition? I saw clips of this on some Top 100 Horror Movies special, but had never heard of it.

The movie Kids has some disturbing scenes - the one that is standing out to me is when the girl who just found out she had AIDS is raped while she is half-conscious, in a living room full of passed-out teenagers. The most disturbing thing about this movie? It launched Chloe Sevigny's[/color] career.
