With regards to Spun and the infamous poo scene: I don't think there was any blood in the toilet. I've seen the movie more times than I care to mention and *really* don't remember any blood. I think the "point" of that scene was all about her saying something like, "I have to go really bad--it's been days" right before and then you see the amount and you're all, "that's it?". See, she's "spun" so she isn't exactly eating alot...
Later, with the rubber glove--it wasn't a nurse, it was a cop. I just assumed it was a cavity search done before throwing her in jail.

Nah, don't feel dumb. Sometimes I think that Spun can only be "understood" by people who have done mass amounts of meth or by people who have friends and loved ones who have done mass amounts of meth.

Planet of the Apes-the original. When all the humans start running through the field and the camera slowly pans up to an ape on horseback. I damn near lost my shit when I saw that for the first time.

How about Pretty In Pink, when Andi takes that lovely little pink vintage gown Iona gave her and cuts it up to make that...thing she ends up wearing. The original dress was soooo cute-it looked like something Holly Golightly would have worn. And then she turned it into a garment bag and wore it.

*Spoiler*
In The Rules of Attraction - the beginning sequence where the guy is raping the unconscious girl from behind and throws up all over her back. I don't care if the rest of the movie was pretty good - that disgusting scene just turned me off the whole film.

Re: Rules of Attraction
Despite being revulsed, I sat thru the whole movie, but that's the only scene I remember. Was that supposed to be a good movie?

The rape scene in The Accused. It seems to go on forever, so much so that it made me quite uncomfortable.
Even though I don't really rate the rest of the movie, that scene was very memorable and shocking without being really explicit.

Since you hated Rules of Attraction deelight and MackMama, I thought you would find it interesting that Christina Ricci was sent the script for that particular role. From the May 2001 issue of Movieline;
Ricci(paraphrased): 'I recently read a script where in the first scene this college girl is getting wasted...decides to have sex the first time...ends up with someone else...she blackouts, ends up getting rapedand vomited on. They proceed to continue to have sex with her while she's passed out.'
