It's okay to be mean as hell to the nerdy guy (or girl) in high school, because in a few years he/she will turn hot and want to date you.

James Cameron didn't see anything hypocritical about spending $100,000,000 on a film he described as nearly Marxist, then reaping the millions in ticket sales. People in Hollywood no they don't deserve their money, they make these films to help assuage their guilt.

Kate & Leopold: Men from the 19th Century are so much better then men for the 21st Century. They stand up when you walk in a room, they open doors for you, and they kiss your hand upon being introduced to you. Whereas, 21st Century men have no manners and do awful things like give you the job promotion you've been working so hard for. As a woman, you are better off leaving the 21st Century behind and going to live in the 19th Century, where women become the property of their husband upon marriage, where women cannot own land, where her career opportunities are limited to governness, seamstress, washwoman or prostitute, where she cannot vote and can be beaten and raped by their husband without legal recourse. But at least she'll never have to open up another door for herself as long as she lives.

Being addicted to drugs/alcohol is sad, disturbing, and leads to major problems for you and your loved ones.
But doing drugs/drinking excessively for the social aspect is fun and cool.
But we're not going to tell you where the "fine line" is.
You've got to figure that one out for yourselves, bitches.
Also, the tried-and-true: a man who sleeps around is a "playa," or a "ladie's man", a woman who sleeps around is a slut.

Man Pretty Woman totally owns this thread. Be a hooker and your rich john will take care of you. You'll live happily ever after. Really great message to girls out there. No really. ETA: I also hate how in movies the "ugly duckling" always has curly hair and glasses and then they make her beautiful by straightening her hair and giving her contacts. I have curly hair and wear glasses sometimes, does that make me ugly?

Just a small reply to the poster above about Do the right thing. Didn't you realise that there was actually an innocent person killed before the riot? Careful now! Worst moral ever (incl one of the worst movies ever) Life or something like it. Successful woman gets told that the is going to die. Suddenly she realises that she needs a baby. Thats all a woman has to look foward to in life?? Breeding?

The Perfect Storm is extremely annoying. The audience is supposed to invest their sympathy in this group of characters who throw away their lives to...save the world? Nope. Protect the life of a child? Uh-uh. Dispense justice? No siree.
To get some fish to market before they go bad. This is why they die.
I know this is a true story but...was there really a need to make a movie about them?

Two movies own this thread for me:
The Bridges of Madison County...because your marriage won't be fulfilling if you don't have an affair.
and
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason...because no matter who you are or what you look like, as long as you're mean, pushy, clingy, jealous, wearing considerably tacky clothes for someone your size and obsessive about your boyfriend AND can't manage to agree with him on a single thing about the future, you will be able to land AND keep a hot (and ooh lordy, is Colin Firth ever hot), well-placed, well-to-do man. Would someone please tell me the appeal of Bridget Jones as a person? I just don't get it.

There's something I don't understand about Scent of a Woman Why exactly is it wrong to turn in those spoiled, fratboy pranksters who embarrass the dean?
Shark Tale To all rich and famous Hollywood stars who create movies about the hollowness of wealth and fame, I have a message: bite my poor ass.
