Wol, you have seriously made my night. I have such major love for Times Square and The Idolmaker. Ray Sharkey was so talented and so great in that role. As for Times Square, I used to have the double album soundtrack from that movie and played it so much during my freshman year of high school.

I recently revisited some of Urgh! A Music War on YouTube. Klaus Nomi doing Total Eclipse of the Sun kinda rocks my little world. The Idolmaker - OMG. RIP Ray Sharkey you poor tortured soul. I think that would make an amazing musical. I know they're turning everything into musicals but I think that would jam. And a young Peter Gallagher, tearing off his clothes...he's not aging well but I still go gaga when I see him. Caesare! USA Up All Night used to play Urgh! all the time. I still have the VHS with commercials cut out and the static bits left by the awesomeness of editing with a remote control. I was turned on to some of my favorite punk bands because of that movie. I, too, was mesmerized by Klaus Nomi. I was 12 when I saw The Idolmaker in the theatre and became gaga for Peter Gallagher. He stirred up some of my earliest memories of complete lust. I still own the vinyl soundtrack.

I Wanna Hold Your Hand which was about some teenagers from New Jersey going into New York to try and see the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show is still my favorite Rock n' Roll movie.

I love the geeky guy who breaks into the hotel room and sells cut up bed sheets and bits of carpet. I love that movie!

Oh, man. "Night Flight" was the greatest thing to air on USA ever. "New Wave Theater" ruled.
I do! I love that movie! I have it somewhere in the house on videotape. I should go find it -- it's worth re-hooking up the VCR.
What about DOA, the punk rock documentary? It was the first time I had seen Sid & Nancy interviewed while under the influence of heroin. OH! And if anyone, anyone has a source to locate a DVD copy of Decline of Western Civilization, Part I, please PM me! I haven't seen it in ages and it doesn't exist on officially released DVD or video.
LOL...yeah, the "Sleaze Sisters!" I don't remember loving the movie, but it holds a special place in my heart because I had a huge crush on Tim Curry at the time. The night the movie opened, the theater handed out free, six-song "sampler" 33 RPM records (on the "Robert Stigwood" label). I still have mine somewhere and I believe "Damn Dog" was on it -- an hysterically awful attempt at "punk."

I haven't seen it in ages and it doesn't exist on officially released DVD or video. It's on YouTube in bits. I recently watched all the parts with X (my favorite band). That's how I learned to give punk rock tattoos.

I just realized they are filming a biopic about Elton John starring Taron Egerton. I am SO there.
