Mark me down for just about any movie that is set during the 18th century, like Pirates of the Carribbean, Interview With a Vampire, Dangerous Liasons (this one especially), etc. Clothing from that period was probably spectacularly uncomfortable, but it's gorgeous.
And The Matrix. How's that for diversity?

I'll second the vote for Orlando - the costumes were excellent in that movie. Well, I thought the movie was great all-around. Come on, they had a dude play Queen Elizabeth I!
Actually, most of my favorites have already been mentioned. I also loved To Catch a Thief - my grandmother made me watch that movie when I was 13 and I feel in love with Grace Kelly's wardrobe, and fashion from that period in general.

Great call, Bonsai - NK's wardrobe was so perfect and...apt in that film. The hair, the style, the pastels etc. It was very well done.
Another Orlando fan! I think I've seen that film over 25 times, at least. Love everything about it.

Whew. ORLANDO...sorry, folks...much as I like Tilda Swinton (and I surely do), what a pretentious bore.

I will chime in for the Titanic love, by saying that I bid $30 for a homemade recreation of the sinking dress, alas I lost (it went for over $50). I will just find the pattern on Ebay when I learn to sew. This Sim site has some Titanic dresses for your Sims 2 sims. I also love Ever After's costumes as well. But then again I am a proud SCAer. Damn, I only have the original Sims. Oh well, it's not like I don't have a couple of Titanic dresses for my original Simmies. Sense and Sensibility patterns has a pattern for the sinking dress. Look under patterns and "Titanic" era. And check out the message board-Jennie's always happy to help anyone with their sewing questions. Another woman made her sinking dress from this pattern and it was just gorgeous.

Damn, I thought this was going to be about Halloween costumes. And I was going to brag about going as Carrie (covered in pig's blood and everything) last year and the blond from Faster Pussycat, Kill!... Kill! the year before. With a handtowel stuffed in my bra and everything. But I won't. Carry on.

1. My Fair Lady, of course! I get such a kick out of the enormous hats. 2. Gigi. The dresses are a 1960s take on turn-of-the-century fashions, so some of them look hilariously dated, but I love Gigi's white dress at the end. Both of these movies were costume-designed and production-designed by Cecil Beaton. I love the Givenchy wardrobe in Sabrina (even more than the one in Breakfast at Tiffany). I also liked Veronica Lake's dresses in I MARRIED A WITCH. I covet Ginger Rogers' bugle beaded dress with maribou trim neckline for her "Let's Face the Music and Dance" number in FOLLOW THE FLEET. The wardrobe that Travis Banton designed for marlene Dietrich in movies like SHANGHAI EXPRESS and DESIRE were the epitome of Hollywood glamour.

I'm fascinated with 1960s film costumes, like the naughty catsuit-and-plastic ones for Barbarella, and the taxi dancer and "rich man's frug" ones for Sweet Charity. The hairdos for the latter are particularly impressive. There are a few that would put Kate and Cindy of the B-52s to shame. The Italian sex comedy The Tenth Victim also has a lot of kicky, kitschy, mid-60s spacegirl fashions projected 30 years into the future, all of them seemingly of stiff white polyester blends. The James Bond films of the 60s also featured many delightful go-go girl fashions for both the foes and the love interests.

Audrey Hepburn's wardrobe in "Funny Face" is so modern. You could easily wear the clothers today.
